MTFT Full Time Frame Continuity Table TheStrat Suite(2of5)Multi Time Frame Tools
Multi Time Frame Tools (MTFT) is a suite of scripts aimed to establish a standard timeframe-based color scheme. This can be utilized to overlay different timeframes calculations/values over a single timeframe. As one example, this would allow to observe the 5-month moving average, 5-week moving average, and 5-day moving average overlaid over each other. This would allow to study a chart, get accustomed to the color scheme and study all these at the same time much easier.
All indicators calculated using the below specific timeframes as input, will always use the color scheme outlined below. This is to get you in habit of recognizing the different timeframes overlaid in top of each other. These can be personalized.
Longer TF analysis.
Yearly - Black
Semi-Annual - Yellow
Quarterly - White
Monthly - Maroon
Weekly - Royal Blue
Daily - Lime
Shorter TF analysis.
4 hour - Fuchsia
1 hour - Orange
30 min - Red
15 min - Brown
10 min - Purple
5 min - Lilac
All color coordination is able to be modified in either the “Inputs” or “Style” section. If you need to make changes, make sure to select “Save as Default” on the bottom right of the settings menu.
Recommended Chart Color Layout
I played around with color coordination a lot. The final product was what worked best for me. I personally use the following chart settings to accent all available TF colors.
-> Click on the settings wheel on your chart. -> Click on “Appearance”.
Background - Solid -> On the top row pick the 6th color from the left.
Vert Grid Lines and Horz Grid Lines -> On the top row pick the 7th color from the left.
You may of course change these and the indicator line colors as you like.
Adding indicator to Chart
-> Open the TradingView “Indicators & Strategies” library, the icon has “ƒx”. -> All premium scripts will be located under “Invite-Only Scripts” -> Click indicator to add to your chart.
MTFT TheStrat Suite (5 Scripts)
Rob Smith is the creator of ‘TheStrat’ trading strategy. For ‘TheStrat’ I have put together a suite of 5 premium scripts that combined will offer people interested in learning ‘TheStrat’ a cleaner learning process. For 2 of the 5 scripts specifically, the MTFT approach of overlaying multiple longer timeframes(TF) over a shorter TF selected as a display cannot be utilized. The other 2 scripts will have full MTFT functionality and they are my personal favorite. I will be providing very basic info to utilize this script; it is up to you to dive deep into learning this strategy. I am not an expert with the tool or a financial advisor. As with all aspects of life, I recommend you research, learn, discern and practice extensively in order to become a master.

MTFT Full Time Frame Continuity Table, TheStrat Suite (2of5)
Full timeframe continuity observes what direction different timeframes are pointed at, red or green. This gives you a bias when evaluating a trade. Image below shows 3 instances of the script to outline the max capacity of the script.
Features includes:
1. Four user selected TFs, with 20 different TF to pick from per script instance. Timeframes(TF) include: Yearly(Y), Semi-annually(S), Quarterly(Q), Monthly(M), 2-Week(2W), Weekly(W), 3-Day(3D), Daily(D), 12 hour, 8 hour, 6 hour, 4 hour, 3 hour, 2 hour, 1 hour, 30 min, 15 min, 10 min, 5 min. The first row on the table cell will show the text for the selected timeframe.
2. Color text Green/Red timeframe based on candlestick status for the selected timeframe. Entire Table Cell text will be colored in this color. These can be customized to user preference.
3. Absolute Truth for most recently closed candlestick, plus the active candlestick. This will be displayed in the second row of the table cell. The value inside the brackets ‘ ’ is used for the previous closed candlestick. The value outside the brackets is for the active candlestick.
4. Label pattern if it’s “in force” or not. This only applies for the active candlestick absolute truth value. Note, ‘i’ means the absolute truth is in force. ‘x’ means the absolute truth is not in force.
5. Actionable Signal indication at bottom. If there is an inside candlestick, a hammer or a shooter, the script will display , , and respectively at the bottom on the third row.
6. Auto-hide Lower Timeframes. When the table cell value is smaller than the selected timeframe this timeframe will be hidden. This is done because their will be errors in calculations.
7. Customizable Table Cell Width for use in the different platforms, desktop/mobile. For desktop I use the setting.
IMPORTANT NOTE for TradingView admin: One of the lessons I would consider most important in attaining clarity regarding trading, is “TheStrat” by Rob Smith. His lesson on “actionable signals” is something that can be applied to any strategy. For this reason, I am including “MTFT TheStrat Patterns Pro” script in all images that will depict confluence for a better trade selection.
Example using TheStrat Pro MTFT with this indicator.
Look for a “TheStrat actionable signal” or a “TheStrat Reversal signal” along with this indicator showing several other larger timeframes Red/Green depending on the direction of the actionable signal.
The Image below shows what this would look like with this indicator. The selected candlestick is the Week, it shows a confirmed closed Shooting Star Actionable signal and below the table shows that the Current Week(W), Month(M), Quarter(Q), and Year(Y) are all Red. This actionable signal would be played for SHORTS. If the low is breached than you would enter a short. For targets you would look at the previous pivots, for this example all targets were hit. This wont always play out so nice and clean, but given that there is so many stocks and so many signals this is just a thought to improve the quality of the signal as it has extra confluence.

Features includes:
1.) Absolute Truth #. This setting will provide the candlesticks absolute truth # below the CS.
2.) Color bars based on Absolute Truth. This setting will color all inside candlesticks yellow, all Green Outside Candlesticks White and all Red Outside Candlesticks Fuchsia. Scenario 2 candlesticks are left as is and will color based on the color of the original candlestick. This setting is default enabled and needs to be disabled in the “Style” tab under the indicator settings wheel. I found this more practical in getting used to the 3 absolute truth scenarios.
3.) Reversals. This setting will mark when reversal patterns as discussed by Rob are posted. Noob version will also include the description of the reversal pattern, while the Pro version will only plot an ‘R’ without the text description. Note: There should never be back-to-back green Rs or red Rs. I found this issue a lot on many of the other ‘TheStrat’ scripts out there. TradingView development team note: The plotchar function does not allow dynamic text so this is the only reason on why there needs to be two separate versions of the script. ‘Pro’ is important for experienced users that already identify the patterns without the text and ‘Noob’ is important for beginner users that still need the text description of the pattern.
4. Continuations. This setting will mark when continuation patterns as discussed by Rob are posted. Noob version will also include the description of the continuation pattern, while the Pro version will only plot a ‘C’ without the text description.

Note the “Entry” and “Target” line were added manually and are not part of the script. This is one successful setup; don’t get excited thinking this is how it always works. I will let you discover and learn for yourself that there is many failed setups and many setups that never trigger the actionable signal. This is where setting alerts is very handy.
6. Alerts. Press on the “Create Alert” Icon for TradingView. When the prompt opens select the preferred script either “TheStrat Pro” or “TheStrat Noob” under “Condition” and then under the sub-menu select any of the following scenarios.

• R ▲/▼ = If the active CS shows a reversal up/down pattern, remember this CS is active and can still change direction and trigger a continuation in the previous trend direction.
• HM Trigger(Last High Cross) = Alert when the active CS breaks the high of the previous CS. As a new CS opens, it re-adjusts its values and is just constantly waiting for the active CS break through the previous CS high.

MTF Supertrend [Trading Nerd]Trend Trading Strategy using Supertrends
Backtesting Script that uses a multitimeframeanalysis of the Supertrend Indicator. The trend direction is determind by a higher Timeframe (TF) Supertrend. The entry Signals are given by the Supertrend of the current TF. The script is NOT repainting (the script takes the previous value of the higher TF Supertrend, if the higher TF candle is not confirmed yet).
Strategy Conditions
Longs:
The higher TF Supertrend has to be green
The current TF Supertrend change from red to green
Shorts:
The higher TF Supertrend has to be red
The current TF Supertrend change from green to red
Optional:
Option: If enabled also a trend chage of the higher TF Supertrend is a valid Entry Signal
If enabled Signals are discarded if the ADX is below the value
Take Profit
On default there is no Take Profit. You can activate a Risk Reward Based Take Profit target trough the option. Also a Partial Take Profit is possible.
Stop Loss
The default Stop Loss Strategy is a Trailing Stoploss. As trailing Price the current TF Supertrend is used.
Additional
Time Filter: Only opens trade in the defined Session. Open trades are still being closed outside of the Session.
Start Date/End Date: Limits the backtest for the defined Date Range
Trading Days: Only open Trades on the checked Days
Risk % per Trade: If enabled the Strategy uses X% of the capital (defined in Settings -> Properties -> Initial Capital)
Use Compound Interest: If enabled Capital is recalculated for every trade (initial capital + net Profit)
IMPORTANT: For low Timeframes and Markets with tight SL (like Forex) it requires a lower Margin Percent than default. Go to Settings->Properties and lower the required Long/Short Margin. Otherwise Trades might not be considered because of too less capital/marign. Margins can e.g. set to: 2% (Forex), 10% (Stocks), 20% (Crypto).

Support Resistance Channels/Zones Multi Time FrameHello All,
For long time I have been getting a lot of requests for Support/Resistance Multi Time Frame script. Here ' Support Resistance Channels/Zones Multi Time Frame ' is in your service.
This script works if the Higher Time Frame you set is higher than the chart time frame. so the time frame in the options should be higher than the chart time frame.
The script checks total bars and highest/lowest in visible part of the chart and shows all S/R zones that fits according the highest/lowest in visible part. you can see screenshots below if it didn't make sense or if you didn't understand
Let see the options:
Higher Time Frame : the time frame that will be used to get Support/Resistance zones, should be higher than chart time frame
Pivot Period : is the number to find the Pivot Points on Higher time frame, these pivot points are used while calculating the S/R zones
Loopback Period : is the number of total bars on higher time frame which is used while finding pivot points
Maximum Channel Width % : is the percent for maximum width for each channel
Minimum Strength : each zone should contain at least a 1 or more pivot points, you set it here. (Open/High/Low/Close also are considered while calculating the strength)
Maximum Number of S/R : the number of maximum Support/Resistance zones. there can be less S/Rs than this number if it can not find enough S/Rs
Show S/R that fits the Chart : because of we use higher time frame, you should enable this option then the script shows only S/Rs that fits the current chart. if you disable this option, all S/R zones are shown and it may shrink the chart. also you may not see any S/R zone if you don't choose the higher time frame wisely ;)
Show S/R channels in a table : if you enable this option (by default it's enabled) then lower/upper bands of all S/R zones shown in a table ( even if it doesn't fit the chart ). you can change its location. zones are sorted according to their strengths. first one is the strongest.
and the other options is about colors and transparency.
Screenshots before and after zoom-out:
after zoom-out number of visible bars and highest/lowest change and it shows more S/R zones that fits the current chart!
if you see Support Resistance zone like below then you should decrease ' Maximum Channel Width ' or you should set higher time frame better:
You can change colors and transparency:
You can change Table location:
Alerts added :)
P.S. I haven't tested it so much, if you see any issue please drop a comment or send me message
Enjoy!

Auto Fibonacci Levels + Auto Trend Line generatorAnother indicator for you guys!!!
This indicator consists of the 5 key Fibonacci retracement levels, plotted automatically to user input settings. I also have included an auto support/resistance trend line generator.
What is a Fibonacci retracement?
'Fibonacci retracement is a method of technical analysis for determining support and resistance levels. It is named after the Fibonacci sequence of numbers, whose ratios provide price levels to which markets tend to retrace a portion of a move before a trend continues in the original direction.' - Wikipedia
How to use the Fibonacci retracement?
- The Fibonacci levels are default. These percentiles from price to the average of the high in a sample and low in a sample give you a guideline of where a bottom may be, where a top may be, and where a range is being created.
- Look for the price to reject from 61.8% and 76.4%, and also look for price to bounce from 38.2% and 23.6%. If a lower low/higher high is made, the fib levels will follow and the percentiles within will be recalculated after a 5 candle offset period.
- If you see price trending towards the lower percentiles (38&23) and using the 50% as resistance, look for a break downwards and vice versa.
-This Fibonacci set as all others is subject to fake-out, always use this with another series indicator, or don't use it as a signal for entry at all (unless you have a backdated strategy)
How to use the trend line generator?
-The trend line generator will only plot when a lower low/higher high has taken place within the input amount of candles. It is also offset by a user amount.
-The check box will give the option to have the trend line's plot or not.
- If you see a green/red dot it means that that will be your first coordinate for the trend line, and until the computations are complete it will give you an idea of which direction it will be in (resistance or support)
-When opening this indicator zoom out all the way to connect any trend lines that do not load automatically.

Pivot BreaksThere are built-in and published Pivot Point High Low indicators in Public Library. As far as I see none of them show the breaking candles or the trend.
with the closing price crossing over the previous / current pivot high A bearish breakOut can either indicate the progression of a lower high pattern or a trend reversal
with the closing price crossing under the previous / current pivot low A bullish breakOut can either indicate the progression of a higher low pattern or a trend reversal
This indicator can show the first breaking candle or all breaking candles . It Can also show The Breaking state (Trend) based on the last break.
Alert Mode is included, colour can be customised, Higher TimeFrame can be requested (it Can also cause repainting)
Inputs are optional as possible so have fun with it

NimblrTA InSwing Public 1.0 (Beta)Hey Folks!
Presenting you the NimblrTA InSwing Beta Template.
This indicator is specifically to be used for Intraday (Time Frame 5M or 3M ) and Swing Trades (Time Frame 30M), that’s why the name “Intraday + Swing (InSwing)”
This script has taken in to concept of NimblrTA which is a combination of Candlestick ( IC / MC Breakout) + Multi timeframe CCI + Ascending/Descending Waves & Previous day high/low values.
Blue Line denotes previous day high
Orange Line denotes previous day low
Black line denotes Intraday Open
The Black dot is plotted above and below momentum candle which tells that there is volume support in momentum candle.
The white body candles are Indecision candles ( IC ), Red & Green body candles are momentum candles ( MC ) in the price flow. Blue candle is IC / MC Breakout up & Maroon candle is IC / MC Breakout down.
Template plots Buy & Sell Signal for easy tracking. All trades get ripe from Intraday so this template will help in timing the entries on real time rather than eod signals.
Later you can align Daily & Weekly TF for Medium to Longer term holding.
Alert option is also added so you can set Buy & Sell alert for easy tracking on your watch listed stocks.
The first Buy & Sell Signal is provisional and gets confirmed with second signal in the template. After that all signals are just adding the strength in the momentum you can use it for pyramiding or ignore it.
Pls note if you are swing trading on 30M TF then first buy/sell signal is enough to build positions don’t wait for confirmatory second signal.
Protip: whenever stock is in sell momentum from last 2-3 days and fresh buy is generated intraday, it’s a clear sign of quick change in trend.
Please note that you need to take Nimblr Waves concept (Overlaps & Impulse) in consideration along with Buy & Sell alerts/signal which is basic requirement to understand the structure of the trend.
For waves tracking (i.e HH, HL, LH & LL )you can use below zig zag indicator
Higher High Lower Low - Live
Following settings you can configure: Period 10, Source: Close/Open
After confirmatory Buy & Sell signal there can be chance stocks gives a Pullback so you can use Nimblr Wave concept to check pullback. Easiest way to check pullback is after confirmatory signal stocks pullback and takes support/resistance near previous day high/low or Intra open. Kindly use this template on decent volume stocks for proper signals.
Pls keep risk management in check and have proper money management plan while trading. After Buy/Sell signal stop loss you can use is Low/High of the day or Previous day close.
Any queries/suggestions do post on Trading View Forum.
MTF Fair Value Gap Indicator ULTRAFVG Fair Value Gap Indicator
FVG's commonly known as Fair Value Gaps are mostly in use for forex trading, however it’s been widely used in price action trading, even on regular large cap stocks. Think of it as an imbalance area where the price of the stock may actually be under/over valued due to many orders being injected in a short amount of time, ie . a gap caused by an impulse created by the speed of the price movement. In essence, the FVG can become a kind of magnet drawing the price back to that level to attempt to balance out the orders (when? we don't know). Please do research to understand the concept of FVG's.
You can look for an opportunity as price approaches the FVG for entry either long/short because after all, it is an "Area of Interest" so the price will either bounce or blow through the area. No indicator works 100% of the time so take in context as just another indicator. It tends work on larger time frames best.
IMPORTANT TV RELATED LIMITATIONS: You should take the time to understand the following. A MAXIMUM of 500 boxes and labels are allowed, thus if you elect to display many different time frames of FVGs and/or select to not auto delete old Daily FVGs, the oldest FVGs will be deleted and not be seen. Additionally if you are on a smaller chart time frame (1 min), you may not see older FVGs such as Daily ones that occurred and still exist from long ago. This is due to TV limitation of 20,000 candles of history in each chart timeframe. Example: A 1 minute chart supports approximately 14 days worth of data so looking for Daily FVGs would only go back that far, whereas if your chart was set to 5 minutes you'd be able to see 5 times as many, ie . 60 days worth of Daily FVG's. Obviously setting your chart and looking for Daily FVG's would support up to 20,000 days worth.
The Indicator Provides many different features:
*Creation of FVG's for all hours or just during market hours. Currently you can enable FVG’s for the following timeframes: Current chart timeframe, 5Min, 10Min, 15Min, 1Hr, 4Hr, 8Hr, Daily, Weekly, Monthly.
*Text label displays overlaying FVG bands including creation timestamps.
* Bands reflecting FVG's in action (created/deleted) for the current chart time frame, 15min, 1hr, 4hr, 8hr and daily time frames. The FVG's will be overlayed on the chart if enabled.
*Mitigation Action - Normal - When FVG is balanced out by price action, the FVG will disappear. Dynamic - The FVG band will decrease as the price movement eats into it thus only showing the remaining imbalance. None - For those that wish to retain FVG's even if they were mitigated. Half - FVG’s disappear when the price intrudes 50% of the overall FVG band zone.
*Mitigation Type - The elimination or balancing of the FVG is caused by either the candle wick or body passing completely through the FVG.
*Maximum FVGs - A maximum number of FVGs are created for each different enabled time frame (be aware setting a large number could impact system performance).
*All FVG band colors can be customized by the user.
* All FVG bands auto extend to the right.
* Intrusion Alerts - Trading View alerts are supported. You can use the indicator settings to enable an alert if the price intrudes into the FVG zone by a certain percentage. This is not related to mitigation or removal of the FVG, just a warning that price has reached the area of interest.
[TC] -- DayTrader's Auto Ultra TrendlinesThe goal of this indicator is to provide day traders with more realistic and general support and resistance trendlines for the chart timeframe they are trading, without the need for excessive parameter adjustment or manual consideration of trendlines from higher timeframes. As we all know, when trading smaller timeframes, it is not only the trendlines from the current timeframe which are significant - we must also consider the position of trendlines from higher ones.
Auto Ultra Trendlines plots a set of multi-timeframe-based resistance and support trendlines that are dynamically calculated depending on the timeframe of the chart which the indicator is applied to.
The indicator calculates conglomerated support and resistance trendlines based on trendline values calculated from several timeframes higher than the chart's. The higher timeframes are logically selected and differ based on the chart timeframe.
This indicator is designed to be applied to charts with a timeframe up to and including the 8H, and cannot be applied to charts with a timeframe greater than 1D.
To increase or decrease the lookback period for the trendlines, use the 'Lookback Factor' parameter.

Liquidity Raids and Sweeps by TexmoonbeamLiquidity is a vital concept in trading. It gives us an indication of where buy / sell orders are in the market, and the direction price is likely to move once this liquidity has been taken.
The purpose of this indicator is to show you when and where there has been a 'raid' or 'sweep' of this liquidity, meaning a reversal might occur.
The indicator does this by looking for candle wicks, that go beyond a previous pivot high or low.
Settings:
Timeframe – This settings changes the timeframe that the indicator looks for raids/sweeps. Higher timeframes generally mean stronger moves.
Left bars – the number of bars gap higher/lower to the left of a pivot low/high. A higher number means the high or low was formed from a stronger move.
Right bars – the number of bars gap higher/lower to the right of a pivot low/high. A higher number means the high or low started a stronger move.
Max Gap – the maximum number of candles between a raid or sweep. Reduce this number on higher time frames if there are memory errors.
Min Gap – the minimum number of candles between a raid or sweep.
Alerts Wait For Close – If ticked, this means an alert will not be triggered by the current candle wick, overlapping a previous, until the close of that candle. Unticked you will be alerted as soon as the current candle crosses a previous high/low, though it might close far beyond that point and not actually turn out to be a raid/sweep.
Buy Side/Sell Side – line style and colour preferences for buy and sell side.
Strategy:
As seen in the example chart, the raid/sweep of liquidity, where only a wick reaches beyond a previous high or low, can be followed by a reversal of direction, often to seek other liquidity targets. This indicator could provide an opportunity to enter a trade at this point and the alert feature means you will be able to set up custom alerts on multiple charts or timeframes.
You should use other confluence and a lower time frame confirmation after a raid/sweep, to identify your entry, stop loss and targets. Familiarity with liquidity and smart money concepts are recommended.
Multi TF Trend Indicator
...Mark Douglas in his book Trading in the Zone wrote
The longer the time frame, the more significant the trend, so a trending market on a daily bar chart is more significant than a trending market on a 30-minute bar chart. Therefore, the trend on the daily bar chart would take precedence over the trend on the 30-minute bar chart and would be considered the major trend. To determine the direction of the major trend, look at what is happening on a daily bar chart. If the trend is up on the daily, you are only going to look for a sell-off or retracement down to what your edge defines as support on the 30-minute chart. That's where you will become a buyer. On the other hand, if the trend is down on the daily, you are only going to look for a rally up to what your edge defines as a resistance level to be a seller on the 30-minute chart. Your objective is to determine, in a downtrending market, how far it can rally on an intraday basis and still not violate the symmetry of the longer trend. In an up-trending market, your objective is to determine how far it can sell off on an intraday basis without violating the symmetry of the longer trend. There's usually very little risk associated with these intraday support and resistance points, because you don't have to let the market go very far beyond them to tell you the trade isn't working.
The purpose of this indicator to show both the major and minor trend on the same chart with no need to switch between timeframes
Script includes
timeframe to determine the major trend
price curve, close price is default, but you can pick MA you want
type of coloring, either curve color or the background color
Implementation details
major trend is determined by the slope of the price curve
Further improvements

Quartile Volume
The Quartile Volume portion of the script segments price/volume intervals by quartile.
The image above shows features of the indicator.
For statistics, the following metrics are recorded:
First Quartile
Second Quartile
Third Quartile
90th Percentile
Fourth Quartile
Q2 - Q1 Dispersion
Q3 - Q2 Dispersion
Q4 - Q3 Dispersion
Quartile Deviation
Interquartile Range
Color-coordinated price bars (by volume quartiles)
The percent rank for the volume of the current bar
Avg. "n" bar return following "high" volume
Avg. "n" bar positive return following "high" volume
Avg. "n" bar negative following "high" volume
The script colors bars via gradient.
By default, bars are colored lime when volume for the interval is "high" (exceeds upper quartile thresholds). The greener the bar, the higher the volume for the interval.
Bars are colored red when volume for the interval is "low" (fails to exceed lower quartile thresholds). The redder the bar, the lower the volume for the interval.
Naturally, brownish-colored bars reflect a volume interval that concluded near the median.
The image above exemplifies the process. This feature might be useful to categorize / objectively define high-volume clusters, low-volume clusters, high-volume price moves, low-volume price moves, etc.
For greater precision, you can select to color bars by volume quartile they belong to.
The image above shows color-coordinated price bars. More details shown in the image.
Additionally, you can select to plot the quartile/percentile that a price bar belongs to on the chart.
The image above shows price bars numbered by the volume quartile they belong to.
The script will distinguish successive 90th percentile violations, superimpose a linear regression channel atop the data sequence, and record pertinent statistics.
The image above shows the process.
Lastly, the user can plot an anchored VWAP using a built-in time function.
The image above shows the anchored VWAP.
Range US Chart
A Range US chart operates irrespective of time and volume - simply - bars produce after a user-defined price move is achieved/exceeded in either direction. A range us chart produces “trend candles” and “reversal candles”. A reversal candle always moves against the most immediate bar; a trend candle always moves in favor of the most immediate bar. The user defines the dollar amount price must travel up/down for a trend candle to fulfill, and for a reversal candle to fulfill.
Note: if a “down reversal” candle (red) Is produced, it’s impossible for the next candle to also be a down reversal candle - for the downside move to continue the criteria for a down trend candle must be fulfilled. Similarly, if an “up reversal” candle (green) Is produced, it’s impossible for the next candle to also be an up reversal candle - for the upside move to continue, the criteria for an uptrend trend candle must be fulfilled. Consequently, Range US bars frequently trade at the same level for extended periods. This is intentional, as this chart type is theorized to “filter noise” (whether Range US charts fulfill this theory is to your discretion).
Lastly, if an up trend candle (green) is produced, the next candle cannot be up a reversal up candle - only a trend up candle or reversal down candle can produce - vice versa for a trend down candle (the subsequent candle cannot be a reversal down candle). In this sense, an uptrend continues on successive trend up candles; a down trend continues on successive trend down candles.
The image above exemplifies Range US chart functionality.
The lower-right stats table shows the requisite price move for a "Trend" candle to produce and for a "Reversal" candle to produce.
The default settings for this chart time automatically calculate the required "Trend" candle price move and the required "Reversal" candle price move. However, both settings are configurable.
The image above shows manually configured parameters for a trend bar and reversal bar to produce. This feature allows the user to replicate the Range US chart hosted on extrinsic charting platforms.
However, please consider that this script does not use tick data; 1-minute OHLC data is used for calculations.
Consequently, configuring the trend bar and reversal bar requirement too low may return inaccurate data. For instance, if you set trend candles to form after a $1 price move then trend candles will form if price moves up $1 from a green Range US bar or down $1 from a red Range US bar. This is sufficient for lower priced assets; however, if you were trading, for instance, Bitcoin - a $1 price move can happen numerous times in one minute. This script can’t plot bars and record data until a 1-minute bar closes and a new 1-minute bar opens. Further, if Bitcoin moves up $1 twenty times and down $1 twenty times in a 1-minute bar - your Range US chart will record such variations as one price move. This data is inaccurate and likely useless.
To counter this quandary, a warning message will appear if you configure trend bar price moves or reversal bar price moves too low.
The image above shows the concealable warning message.
The image above is a flow diagram (made with shaky hands) illustrating the Range US bar formation process.
A google search will return additional information on the Range US chart type.
Volume Aggregation Bars
TradingView user and member of the TradingView Discord server @ferreirajames informed me of the Volume Aggregation chart type. The user commented in the "Suggestions" channel for the TradingView Discord server asking for the Volume Aggregation chart type. As an interim fix, I tried my hand at recreating the process, which is available in this script.
Similar to the Range US chart type, Volume Aggregation bars aren’t bound to a time-axis; the bars form after a user-defined, cumulative amount of volume is achieved or exceeded. Consequently, once the cumulative amount of volume is achieved or exceeded - a bar is produced at the corresponding price level.
Underlying theory: The chat type is conducive to identifying price levels where traders are “trapped”. Whether the process adequately distinguishes this circumstance is to your discretion.
The image above exemplifies the Volume Aggregation chart type.
Regardless of the current price, Volume Aggregation bars for after a requisite amount of volume is achieved/exceeded. Tick data isn't used; therefore, remainder values are carry over.
By default, the script automatically calculates a proportional cumulative volume total to dictate the formation of Volume Aggregation bars. However, the cumulative threshold is configurable.
The image above shows Volume Aggregation bars forming subsequent a user-defined cumulative volume total being exceeded.
Note: This chart type uses OHLC data from the timeframe of your chart. Therefore, for instance, setting the volume threshold too low will produce inaccurate, useless data.
A warning message will appear for such occurrence.
Gaps
The indicator incorporates a "Gaps" chart type.
The image above shows accompanying features.
A list of all unfilled gaps is accessible - gaps for this list are sorted by distance from current price.
Partially filled gaps are displayed in the corresponding gap box - the percentage amount the gap was filled is also displayed.
Gap statistics show:
# of Gaps
# of Up Gaps
# of Down Gaps
Average # of bars to fill Up Gaps
Average # of bars to dill Down Gaps
Average Gap Up % increase
Average Gap Down % decrease
Cumulative % increase of all Up Gaps
Cumulative % decrease of all Down Gaps
Naturally, there may be gaps formed thousands of bars ago that aren't close to price. Showing these gaps on the chart will "scrunch" the y-axis and make prices indistinguishable.
I've added a setting that allows the user to hide gaps that are "n" % away from the current price. The gap, if unfilled, will reappear when price trades within the user-defined percentage.
The image above shows an example. There's an unfilled down gap that's "hidden" because the current price is a further % away from price than what I've specified in the settings (1%). When prices trade back within 1% of the gap - it will reappear.
The image above shows the process in action. Prices moved back within 1% (can be any %) of the gap; therefore, it reappeared on the chart.
You can also set the % distance a gap must achieve for it to be considered a gap, recorded and plotted. Additionally, you can select to "visualize" gaps. Similar to the Range US chart and the Volume Aggregation chart, this setting will bars reflecting the most recent sequence of gaps - date and percentage distance of the gap are superimposed atop the bar.
Let me know if there's anything else you'd like included!
Note: The initial compilation time for this script is.... high. However, once the script's compiled, calculation load times are quick and you can sift through assets and timeframes relatively quick.
There's also a setting to "Improve Load Times" in the user-inputs table. This setting only improves the load times for post-compilation calculations and plots. The initial compilation load time is unchanged. Simply, once the indicator has "first loaded", all subsequent loads are quick.
Thank you! (:
SuperTrend Momentum Chart(My goal creating this indicator) : Provide a quick way to check the current momentum of multiple timeframes. The Smart Momentum Chart was intended to be a live trading tool that should be used when a trader has already defined his edge and no longer needs the past Momentum data.
The Underlying Concept
What is Momentum ?
The Momentum shown is derived from a Mathematical Formula SUPERTREND , when price is above SUPERTREND its bullish Momentum and when its below SUPERTREND its Bearish Momentum. This indicator scans for candle closes on the timeframes you've selected and when there is a shift in momentum it notifies the trader with a color change and an alert if one was set up.
Technical inputs
- If you want to optimize the rate of signals to better fit your trading plan you would change the Factor input and ATR Length input. Increase factor and ATR Length to decrease the frequency of signals and decrease the Factor and ATR Length to increase the frequency of signals.
Quick TIP! : You can Sync all VFX SuperTrend Indicators together! All VFX SuperTrend indicators display unique information but its all derived from that same Momentum Formula. Keep the Factor input and ATR Length the same on other VFX SuperTrend indicators to have them operating on the same data.
Time Frame Inputs
- Your able to fill the chart with up to 8 timeframes
- If You don't need all 8 you can limit the amount to display by changing the "Time Frame Amount"
Display Inputs
- You can change the size of the chart and the color of the text
- You can toggle ON if you want to be signaled when a momentum switch occurs ( bullish to bearish or bearish to bullish )
- Your able to pick the Bullish and Bearish Colors of the Momentum switch
How it can be used ?
- Easily check the momentum of other Timeframes and use that information as a variable in your trading plan.
- quickly glance and know the momentum of any time frame before you enter any trade
- always know the momentum of the higher time frames
- Eliminate the need to switch from current chart
- Get an abundance of information in one location
- Have clear variables to structure your trades around
