Hulk Strategy x35 Leverage 5m chart w/Alerts This strategy is a pullback strategy that utilizes 2 EMAs as a way of identifying trend, MACD as an entry signal, and RSI and ADX to filter bad trades. By using the confirmation of all of these indicators the strategy attempts to catch pullbacks, and it is optimized to wait for high probability setups. Take not that the strategy is optimized for use on BTCUSDT along with 35 times leverage(Using leverage is risky). The Hulk Strategy waits for strong trend confirmation and then attempts to identify pullbacks using MACD and RSI. By using these it identifies strong short term movement against the trend(hence the name Hulk). To use the strategy wait for the strategy to make an entry, and then enter with a stop loss of 1.1% and a take profit of 1.35% with respect to if it is a long or short position. The trade frequency of this strategy is high as it is made for use on the 5m timeframe. But this does not mean you will have to be staring at your computer constantly as an average of 1 trade takes place each day. This will vary a lot though, somedays the strategy enters up to 4 times. P.S. The indicators on my chart are visualizations of the indicators used in the strategy, they are not necessary for the strategy to work though. Also the colored in cloud on the price chart is an EMA cloud and it comes with the strategy when you add it to your chart. This EMA cloud consists of two EMAs a 50 and a 200 EMA.

Squeeze M + ADX + TTM (Trading Latino & John Carter) by [Rolgui]About this indicator:
This indicator aims to combine two good performing strategies, which can be used separately or together, mainly for investment positions, although it can also be used for intraday trading.
Strategy 1) Squeeze Oscillator and Average Directional Index:
This strategy is taught by Jaime Aibsai, which determines market entries based on reading the direction of the price movement (Directionality of the Oscillator) along with the strength of the Oscillator (Slope of the ADX).
Both tools are configured according to Jaime Abisai's strategy, by default (note that point 23 of the ADX is represented by point 0 on the panel, to make reading easier, its interpretation is not affected). Anyway you can adjust the input data according to your interest.

Strategy 2) Squeeze Momentum and Trade The Market Waves:
This strategy can be consulted either in John F. Carter's books or on his website.
This market reading is based on Price Volatility (Bollinger Bands and Keltner Channels interaction) and its Trend (Exponential Moving Averages), showing entries at times when price volatility is low and taking filtering active trend using T.T.M. Waves.
To configure the indicator in the same way that Carter does, it would be enough to turn off the ADX, turn on the Squeeze Momentum signals along with the T.T.M. Waves, and importantly, change the Linear Momentum value to 12 (this configuration can be found in his book).

Why this indicator?
I've added and removed the above flags as I needed to query them (which became tedious for me). The main objective of having merged them into one is to make their reading more agile and comfortable and thus improve the decision-making capacity of the trader who wishes to use them.

All of these setups include trend trading methods intended to maximize profitability in strong trending markets, and filters deployed to prevent failures in consolidation, though nothing is failproof.
You can control your leverage, quantity calculations, and other order settings. However, all other strategy input parameters are controlled by the strategy selectors.
Some strategies use 1.5 to 1 Risk to Reward ratio while others use 1:1.
How we execute trades for each strategy:
For 10m and 45m
we use a variety of settings for a Normalized MACD and ADX indicator. The thesis is we detect Normalized MACD crossovers at specific values and only allow trading of the strategy when the ADX is above a specific value.
For 15m, 1H, and 45m
we utilize the RSI crossovers of overbought and oversold and use the RSI moving average to filter trades. The thesis is we detect overbought for long and oversold for short.
For each strategy we use additional filters such as Bull Bear Power, Volume Flow, and Open Interest calculations to simply validate a trade.
Automatic Mode
In automatic mode, we detect your timeframe and current coin chart to decide one of the strategies from our database. If you want to manually select a different strategy or try the strategies on different cryptocurrencies, you can disable automatic mode entirely.

jma + dwma macdThis MACD system was originally conceptualized by Jurik Research and made public to the world on their website .
The indicator consists of the faster Jurik Moving Average ( JMA ) and the slower Double Weighted Moving Average (DWMA). A long signal (green dot at the bottom) is shown when the JMA line crosses above the DWMA line (indicating a possible reversal in trend). A short signal (red dot at the top) is shown when the JMA line crosses below the DWMA line. Take profit signals (tan dot at the top/bottom) are shown when the JMA line reverses directions. Alerts for signals are included in this indicator.
The default settings are not optimized for any timeframe.

Swing Crossings - TradingEDThis case study is based on different previous studies: ADX Performance , MACD Performance & RSI Performance, with different counts to compare different oscillations of each indicator. Actually, this indicator is complementary to those previously mentioned. The use of this indicator is restricted to private use, and it can be used only by invitation. Different functionalities have been added to the original codes, such as alerts and signals that seek to make trading much easier to interpret by any type of trading operator of any experience level, from beginner to intermediate and advanced .
Key components of the original ADX indicator:
• The DIRECTIONAL MOVEMENT INDEX (DMI) is a technical indicator that measures both the strength and direction of a price movement and is intended to reduce false signals.
• The DMI uses two standard indicators, one negative ( -DI ) and one positive ( +DI ), in conjunction with a third, the AVERAGE DIRECTIONAL INDEX ( ADX ), which is non-directional but shows momentum.
• The larger the spread between the two primary lines, the stronger the price trend. If +DI is way above -DI the price trend is strongly up. If -DI is way above +DI then the price trend is strongly down.
• ADX measures the strength of the trend, either up or down; a reading above 20 indicates a strong trend.
ADX is plotted as a single line with values ranging from a low of zero to a high of 100. ADX is non-directional; it registers trend strength whether price is trending up or down. The indicator is usually plotted in the same window as the two DMI lines, from which ADX is derived. When +DI is above -DI , there is more upward pressure than downward pressure in the price. Conversely, if -DI is above +DI , then there is more downward pressure on the price. This indicator may help traders assess the trend direction. Crossovers between the lines are also sometimes used as trade signals to buy or sell, theay are the main trade signals. A long trade is taken when the +DI crosses above the -DI and an uptrend could be underway. Meanwhile, a sell signal occurs when the +DI instead crosses below the -DI .
Key components of the original RSI indicator:
● The Relative Strength Index ( RSI ) is a popular momentum oscillator developed in 1978.
● The RSI provides technical traders signals about bullish and bearish price momentum, and it is often plotted beneath the graph of an asset's price.
● An asset is usually considered overbought when the RSI is above 70% and oversold when it is below 30%.
It is a momentum indicator used in technical analysis that measures the magnitude of recent price changes to assess overbought or oversold conditions in the price of an asset. The RSI is displayed as an oscillator (a line chart moving between two extremes) and can read from 0 to 100. Overbought does not necessarily mean that the price will reverse lower, just as oversold does not mean that the price will reverse higher. Rather, the overbought and oversold conditions simply alert traders that the RSI is near the extremes of its recent readings.
Key components of the original MACD indicator:
● The Moving Average Convergence Divergence ( MACD ) is calculated by subtracting a long period (26) Exponential Moving Average ( EMA ) from a short (12) period EMA .
● MACD triggers technical signals when it crosses above (to buy) or below (to sell) its signal line.
● The speed of crossovers is also taken as a signal of a market is overbought or oversold.
● MACD helps traders to understand whether the bullish or bearish movement in the price is strengthening or weakening.
It is a momentum indicator that follows the trend and shows the relationship between two moving averages of the price of a security. It can function as a trigger for buy and sell signals, when you cross above (to buy) or below (to sell) your signal line. It helps to understand if the movement is bullish or bearish , if it is getting stronger or weaker. The further the MACD is above or below its baseline, it indicates that the distance between the two EMAs will be growing, often shown with a histogram that graphically represents the distance between the MACD and its signal line, and It is used to identify when the bullish or bearish momentum.
Main functions of this modified indicator:
1) The SOURCE for the counts can be determined by the trader (close, open, etc).
2) In some cases, you can select the type of MOVING AVERAGE, among many available options ( SMA , EMA , DEMA , HMA , etc.)
3) The MEASURE can be based on a CANDLES count if you are trading OHLC Charts from 1D onwards, or if your trading is intraday, you can also select counts by MINUTES, HOURS or DAYS, depending on your trading style.
4) LENGTH, by default it will be loaded as in the STRATEGY, but considering the previous point, you can modify it according to your convenience.
5) You have the option to hide or show a LABEL at the top of the chart, with respect to the signals: BULLISH green, BEARISH red. *
6) You have the option to hide or show INDICATORS or SIGNALS based on EACH OSCILLATION.
Main performance functions of this modified indicator:
I) In the case of the PERFORMANCE that appears at the right of the chart, you have the option to adjust the WIDTH of each box.
II) The TEXT of the PERFORMANCE is not modifiable, but you can customize the default color. *
III) The BACKGROUND of the PERFORMANCE, you can customize the default color. *
IV) You have the option to hide or show a PERFORMANCE that appears at the right of the chart.
Main functions to customize the style of this indicator:
a) For any type of SIGNAL, it is painted as a VERTICAL LINE in the graph, you can change the color that comes by default. *
b) In the case of the LABELS that appear at the top, the text is not modifiable, but you can customize both the type of label and change the default color. *

You can use any of the indicators by itself as usual, stochastic as a oversold/overbought indicator as a momentum/trend indicator.
Usually, crossovers are used for LONG/SHORT entries.
I added dots for crossovers as well as background colors to show movement direction when both indicators agree: green = bullish, red = bearish and orange = range/consolidation.

Default settings for both indicators have been changed (but they're of course configurable), to make them work better together.
You can also change NMACD moving average time to SMA or WMA instead of SMA, SMA is really slow for me but give it a try, WMA is more aggressive.
=== RECOMMENDATIONS ===
Always look for higher timeframes, for example, if you're trading 1h, don't try to catch a 1H "ALL GREEN" LONG while 4H is "ALL RED" because otherwise you're just "trying" to catch a bounce in the 1H chart that could never happen, always trade with the main trend.
Try to catch both crossovers in the opposite area, ex: try to LONG when both indicators are below 50 and SHORT above.
I did not test divergences on this indicator, as the MACD is normalized i prefer to use a standard MACD for that, but you can use the stochastic for sure.
Momentum LineWhat is this?
Momentum line (a blue line at the bottom area) tells you the short term trend movement of price. It will useful when the major trend is not developed-well. This line is not for a single use. We suggest you to use it with our other module: Trend Optimizer module, as shown above the momentum line.
Indicator & Strategies:
Momentum Line is based on moving average convergence divergence (MACD). We don't use the histogram, we don't concern the 2 lines crossing. So we blend the two lines into single lines.
See the charts, see the trend color (trend optimizer module) when it changed from long red color into white. It shows the medium trend changed from strong downtrend into neutral. But since the long term trend (the vertical trend bar below) is still not yet changed into green, the major trend (medium & long term) is still in development process. This is when we need to look at momentum line. If it pointing up, it gives confirmation that the uptrend is developing and you can buy the stocks using trend or swing strategies 9our profit trader module)

You can detect an early bottom reversal phase especially when you combine this momentum line script with out trend optimizer script.

This is a table that shows the bullish, bearish or neutral trend for nine different popular indicators. ***HOW TO USE***
A great way to use this market screener is to set up separate chart layouts for each sector you like to trade. Such as the top 9 stocks in the S & P 500, top 9 stocks in the XLF etf, etc. Make sure to set up separate chart layouts in Tradingview so you don’t have to change the symbols constantly. This will give you a good idea in real time if that entire sector is bullish, bearish or mixed. When the entire grid goes red or green, those are very strong signs of market direction across that entire sector, so trades in the corresponding direction are quite safe.
This can be done for crypto as well, using the top 9 cryptocurrencies by market cap. Watch the grid and wait for the entire lot to turn green or red and then take a position in that direction.
You can also use this with a variety of your favorite tickers so you can see when specific markets are looking strong in either direction, instead of constantly changing charts or missing good opportunities because you weren’t watching that specific chart.
This grid can also be used to determine how long to hold a position as well. If the entire grid is still green or red, according to your trade direction, you can usually expect price to continue in that direction until you see some conflicting colors start to pop up on the grid. As it starts to give mixed signals, you can expect the market to be indecisive or reverse which is a good time to get out.
If you have your scanner setup to show similar markets in one sector, be careful taking trades when the grid is very mixed in color. This shows signs of indecision and will likely have choppy price action until the market decides a direction so make sure to use caution when the grid is mixed. It is best to wait for the entire grid to turn green or red and then take position.

When each indicator value is in bullish territory, the background of that value will turn green.

This indicator attempts to catch market tops and bottoms based on the market being extremely extended in its respectful direction. It combines a Triple Stochastic RSI as well as MACD convergences to strengthen the signal. A standard RSI can also be shown if needed.
Highlighted green means that you are moving towards a potential bottom.
Highlighted red means that you are moving towards a potential top.
An arrow will signify that the direction of momentum has changed.
If you see the same colored bar below the highlighted area, price is converging; strengthening the original signal.

Exit Conditions
The Stoploss can be set in two different ways:
1. By the calculated ATR value of the entry Candle. This Value can be multiplied with the ATR multiplier for SL .
For Longs: SL = entry Price - ATR * ATR-multiplier
For Shorts: SL = entry Price + ATR * ATR-multiplier
2. By the previous highest high or lowest low (also called Donchain Channels). The lookback length can be changed in the at Lookback length for HH/LL SL .
For Longs: SL = LL of the last X candles
For Shorts: SL = HH of the last X candles
Take Profit
The TP is calculated by the Risk * Risk Reward Ratio . The Risk Reward Ratio can be changed in the Settings. The Risk is the difference of entry price and stoploss price: Risk = absolute(entry price - stoploss price)
For Longs: TP = entry Price + Risk * Risk Reward Ratio.
For Shorts: TP = entry Price - Risk * Risk Reward Ratio.
Risk Management
You can set the Risk % per Trade in the settings. A Value of 2 means that the position size is calculated in a way that at a loosing trade the strategy will only loose 2% of the current capital (initial capital + net profit).
E.g.: The current capital is $1000 and a trade hits the SL. The strategy will only loose $20.
Info for Alerts: Alert message conversion of JSON Strings. You don't need to add any or \" to the alert String.

Additional histogram and lines from the higher timeframe. With the parameter "Multiple of TF" you can specify on which timeframe the standard histogram should be zoomed.
The Zoom function allows increasing or decreasing the size of the histogram. (It does not affect the calculations in any way, it is only used for visualization purposes.)
How to use it?
I recommend using it as a standard MACD. You can test different types of moving averages thanks to my modules and choose the one you find most suitable.
Tips:
The script is slightly heavy and may take a little longer to load than usual.
All MA types are in alphabetical order and tied to numbers.
Next to the "MA Type" parameter there is a hint which method of calculating MA corresponds to the figure. The default is 15. In the hint 15 = EMA. This is the standard method of calculating the MAСD.
To select the MA more quickly. You can switch them with the mouse wheel or the arrows on the keyboard.
I use the standard parameters prescribed in the script.
The code is calibrated for any TF and displays as correctly as possible. Can be used on any type of chart.

I've developed toolkits and strategies that use divergences for many years, e.g. AutoDivergence and CCIDivergence . Pro Divergence is my latest development and benefits from those yearlong experiences.
The main algorithm to detect divergences has changed from using linear regressions and moving averages to algorithmic trendline detection like I've been using in TD Lines .
This new approach supports the detection of regular divergences but also hidden divergences can be identified.
Before going more into the details of the mechanics of Pro Divergence, let's recap, what divergences are all about when it comes to trading.
█ Regular Divergence
The basic idea is pretty simple: If price goes in the opposite direction than some other technical indicator - in most cases an oscillator - we speak of a divergence. A regular divergence might be a signal for a trend reversal. That's it.
For example, if the price is currently rising, while at the same time Momentum is falling - it might be time for a reversal and the price of an asset is about to fall soon. If there are additional indications to confirm the signal, e.g. if RSI is in the overbought area, it might be a good idea to go short on that specific asset.
Regular bullish divergences are indicated when price is forming lower lows while an oscillator shows higher lows.
Regular bearish divergences are indicated when price is forming higher highs while an oscillator shows lower highs.
█ Hidden Divergence
While regular divergences indicate trend reversals, hidden divergences indicate a trend continuation.
When the price is making higher lows and the oscillator is showing lower lows, we speak of a bullish hidden divergence. When the price is making lower highs and the oscillator shows higher highs, it's a bearish hidden divergence.
These rules for identifying divergences are pretty simple and straightforward. And they are also confusing at times. But that's what Pro Divergence is helping you with: trade based on customizable signals to identify all kinds of divergences.
You could either use the strategy settings of the toolkit to optimize the properties to show winning backtesting results. Or you use the signals as an extra confirmation to some other kind of signal/ strategy you are working with.
█ Summary of all current features
• Oscillator: choose between CCI, Momentum, MACD, or RSI. All oscillators-settings are customizable.
• RSI-filter: in some cases, the quality of the signals can be improved by an RSI filter, e.g. a bullish signal would only be valid if RSI is in the oversold area. Set the RSI period and the oversold/ overbought levels to your preferred values.
• You can display all divergences on the chart to get an idea of the current price action. Or you can pick any combination of signals you would like to include in a backtest. Possible signals are: regular bullish divergence, regular bearish divergence, hidden bullish divergence, hidden bearish divergence
• Exits: there are many ways to get exit signals - combinations of the below options are possible:
• fixed profit targets/ stop losses based on ticks
• Exit when momentum reverses
• Exit when price touches the opposite Bollinger Band (e.g. a long position will be closed when price touches the upper Bollinger Band). The settings for the Bollinger Bands are customizable.
• Entry: you can choose only to enter a trade if momentum is going in the same direction as the direction of your trade (e.g. only go long if momentum is rising)
• time and date filer
• Do a backtest only in a given time range (maybe you're not interested in the whole range of historical data when trading in a higher timeframe. Or you would like to do some kind of walk forward analysis)
• Only trade during special times of a day, e.g. only trade during the first hours of a trading session
Since this strategy is making heavy use of math and technical indicators, it is not tied to a certain asset class or timeframe. It was tested successfully on a large number of financial instruments like stocks, crypto, forex, and others.

The most popular indicator used in technical analysis , the moving average convergence divergence ( MACD ), created by Gerald Appel. MACD is a trend-following momentum indicator , designed to reveal changes in the strength, direction, momentum, and duration of a trend in a financial instrument’s price
Historical evolution of MACD ,
- Gerald Appel created the MACD line,
- Thomas Aspray added the histogram feature to MACD
- Giorgos E. Siligardos created a leader of MACD
MACD employs two Moving Averages of varying lengths (which are lagging indicators) to identify trend direction and duration. Then, MACD takes the difference in values between those two Moving Averages (MACD Line) and an EMA of those Moving Averages (Signal Line) and plots that difference between the two lines as a histogram which oscillates above and below a center Zero Line. The histogram is used as a good indication of a security's momentum.
The MACD indicator is typically good for identifying three types of basic signals;
Signal Line Crossovers
A Signal Line Crossover is the most common signal produced by the MACD . On the occasions where the MACD Line crosses above or below the Signal Line, that can signify a potentially strong move. The standard interpretation of such an event is a recommendation to buy if the MACD line crosses up through the Signal Line (a "bullish" crossover), or to sell if it crosses down through the Signal Line (a "bearish" crossover). These events are taken as indications that the trend in the financial instrument is about to accelerate in the direction of the crossover.
Zero Line Crossovers
Zero Line Crossovers occur when the MACD Line crossed the Zero Line and either becomes positive (above 0) or negative (below 0). A change from positive to negative MACD is interpreted as "bearish", and from negative to positive as "bullish". Zero crossovers provide evidence of a change in the direction of a trend but less confirmation of its momentum than a signal line crossover
Divergence
Divergence is another signal created by the MACD . Simply, divergence occurs when the MACD and actual price are not in agreement. A "positive divergence" or "bullish divergence" occurs when the price makes a new low but the MACD does not confirm with a new low of its own. A "negative divergence" or "bearish divergence" occurs when the price makes a new high but the MACD does not confirm with a new high of its own. A divergence with respect to price may occur on the MACD line and/or the MACD Histogram
Moving Average Crossovers , another hidden signal that MACD Indicator identifies
Many traders will watch for a short-term moving average to cross above a longer-term moving average and use this to signal increasing upward momentum. This bullish crossover suggests that the price has recently been rising at a faster rate than it has in the past, so it is a common technical buy sign. Conversely, a short-term moving average crossing below a longer-term average is used to illustrate that the asset's price has been moving downward at a faster rate and that it may be a good time to sell.
Moving Average Crossovers in reality is Zero Line Crossovers, the value of the MACD indicator is equal to zero each time the two moving averages cross over each other. For easy interpretation by trades, Zero Line Crossovers are simply described as positive or negative MACD
False signals
Like any forecasting algorithm, the MACD can generate false signals. A false positive, for example, would be a bullish crossover followed by a sudden decline in a financial instrument. A false negative would be a situation where there is bearish crossover, yet the financial instrument accelerated suddenly upwards
What is “MACD-X” and Why it is “More Than MACD”
In its simples form, MACD-X implements variety of different calculation techniques applied to obtain MACD Line. Different calculation techniques lead to different values for MACD Line, as will further discuss below, and as a consequence the signal line and the histogram values will differentiate accordingly.

1- Plotting of the Oscillator presented on top of the price chart (main chart) and applicable on both log and linear scale. Maximum plotting length is limited to 250 bars
2- Introduces different proven techniques applied on MACD calculation, such as MACD-AS (Histogram), MACD-Leader and MACD-Source, besides the traditional MACD (MACD-TRADITIONAL)

The MACD-Histogram measures the distance between MACD and its signal line (the 9-day EMA of MACD ). Aspray developed the MACD-Histogram to anticipate signal line crossovers in MACD . Because MACD uses moving averages and moving averages lag price, signal line crossovers can come late and affect the reward-to-risk ratio of a trade. Bullish or bearish divergences in the MACD-Histogram can alert chartists to an imminent signal line crossover in MACD
Aspray's contribution served as a way to anticipate (and therefore cut down on lag) possible MACD crossovers which are a fundamental part of the indicator.

MACD Leader has the ability to lead MACD at critical situations. Almost all smoothing methods encounter in technical analysis are based on a relative-weighted sum of past prices, and the Leader is no exception. The concealed weights of MACD Leader are such that more relative weight is used in the more recent prices than the respective weights used by the components of MACD . In effect, the Leader expresses more changes in average price dynamics for the recent price movement than MACD , thus eventually leading MACD , especially when significant trend changes are about to take place.

MACD Source, presents an application of MACD that evaluates Source/MA Ratio, relatively with less lag, as a basis for MACD Line, also can be expressed as source convergence/divergence to its moving average. Among the various techniques for removing the lag between price and moving average (MA) of the price, one in particular stands out: the addition to the moving average of a portion of the difference between the price and MA. MACD Source, is based on signal length mean of the difference between Source and average value of shot length and long length moving average of the source (Source/MA Ratio), where the source is actual value and hence no lag and relatively less lag with the average value of moving average of the source .
MACD Source provides relatively early crossovers comparing to MACD and better momentum direction indications, assuming the lengths are set to same values

The big yellow honey waves primary use is to see the momentum of the market, they can be used in a similar way you would use a MACD or Chaikin Money Flow
On this image you see the honey waves being plotted to the 30 minute timeframe while on the 5 minute chart to have an understanding of longer time momentum in the chart.
Trend Strength
Most tools of the indicator can be used for that but the yellow and purple slope strength lines are made specificaly for this. When you see them curl down you know trend is strengthening towards the downside.
The candle color is based on the amount of Honey waves sloping in one direction. This might be the best tool in the indicator to find Trend Strength. Bright yellow candles mean strong bears while the bright blue candles mean strong bulls.
Overbought and oversold zones
By analysing the waves on a chart you start to learn how big waves can get before a reversal or consolidation period arrives.
You can become profitable with the indicator. But to be honest, my primary focus in making this indicator was find ways to visualise alot of data in a clear and beautiful way.
You should use the indicator with some out of the box ideas instead of just trusting the signals.

Find a head and shoulders pattern on the top of a huge honey wave.
Find a bottom small wave while the others honey waves are in the opposite direction for entering a pullback.
Use the honey for direction but the yellow and purple slope line crosses for entrys.

The Honey Cypher waves are calculated in a similar way as the MACD histogram. I've combined MACD formula with some of the lazybear formula. It looks for the distance between 2 moving averages to find trend strength. After that the end results get's smoothed out. It is very satisfying to change that as you can see the honey waves create a melting like motion on each change of smoothing.
Below a preview of the honey cypher moving average lines, all lines have a length that is based on the fibonacci number sequence. Honey cypher measures the distance between for example length 5-8 averages.
I hope this inspires coders to create very beautiful scripts.
MTF MACD (PPO) [TANHEF]Mult-Timeframe Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) and Percentage Price Oscillator (PPO) indicator that allows for viewing of 1 to 5 different Timeframes.
Brief Summary
The primary benefit of multi-timeframe indicators is getting better entries and confirmation from viewing multiple time frames at once, which can often get overlooked.
MACD shouldn't be only used by itself, it is a lot more consistent when applied in the same direction as the trend as well as multiple other things including support, resistance, and volume improve the outcomes of the MACD results.
Personally, I look for good entries on higher and lower time frames (multiple timeframes must agree with the buying or selling). For example, if a higher timeframe looks like a good long entry (MACD line is crossing up and below the zero line), then the lower timeframes should be checked to ensure they are not oversold or overextended (the MACD line must be low or below the zero), once the lower and higher timeframes are in agreeance an entry can be made.
What is Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD)?
Moving average convergence divergence (MACD) is a trend-following momentum indicator that shows the relationship between two moving averages of the price. The MACD is calculated by subtracting the 26-period exponential moving average (EMA) from the 12-period EMA.
What is the Percentage Price Oscillator (PPO)?
The PPO is identical to the MACD indicator, except the PPO measures percentage difference between two EMAs, while the MACD measures absolute (or dollar) difference. The PPO has the advantage of being comparable to other assets with different prices, whereas MACD readings are not comparable. For example, regardless of the asset's price, a PPO result of 10 means the short-term average is 10% above the long-term average.
A signal line can be displayed on Timeframe, including:
- MACD & Signal Line crosses (Green when MACD above Signal Line and Red when MACD below Signal Line)
- Histogram Direction (fast and slow EMA gap)
- SuperTrend for identifying trend direction (green for uptrend, red for downtrend)
- EMA Trend for identifying trend direction (above EMA = up trend and green, below EMA = down trend and red)
Cross Dots and Potential cross dots
- Green Dot, is displayed when the MACD crosses the Signal Line
- Red Dot, is displayed when the MACD crosses the Signal Line
- Yellow Dot. Potential cross up (green dot) on next bar. Displayed when if the same distance a MACD moves on a bar is applied to the next bar will cause a MACD and Signal Line Cross. This is calculated by checking if the value change of one bar is added to the current MACD value would lead to a cross on the next bar, the it is a potential up dot.
- Purple Dot. Potential cross down (red dot) on next bar. Displayed when if the same distance a MACD moves on a bar is applied to the next bar will cause a MACD and Signal Line Cross. This is calculated by checking if the value change of one bar is added to the current MACD value would lead to a cross on the next bar, the it is a potential down dot.
Best Fit Settings
- Can be applied to the MACD, Signal Line, and Histogram to re-scale (stretch) to fit them within the space of the +2 and -2 range that each timeframe is provided on this indicator.
- The lookback distance value is used to lookback a certain distance to ensure everything scaled to fit well.
Labels are displayed on the right of the indicators, including:
- a label identifying 'line indicator' is currently being displayed
- the Timeframe corresponding to each MACD or PPO indicator
- the MACD or PPO of each Timeframe
