Breakouts with Tests & Retests [LuxAlgo]The Breakouts Tests & Retests indicator highlights tests and retests of levels constructed from detected swing points. A swing area of interest switches colors when a breakout occurs.
Users can control the sensitivity of the swing point detection and the width of the swing areas.
🔶 USAGE
When a Swing point is detected, an area of interest is drawn, colored green for a bullish swing and red when bearish.
A test is confirmed when the opening price is situated in the area of interest, and the closing price is above or below the area, depending on whether it is a bullish or bearish swing. Tests are highlighted with a solid-colored triangle.
A breakout is confirmed when the price closes in the opposite position, below or above the area, in which case the area will switch colors.
If the opening price is located within the area and the closing price closes outside the area, in the same direction as the breakout, this is considered a retest . Retests are highlighted with a hollow-colored triangle.
Note that tests/retests do not act on wicks. The main factor is that the opening price is in the area of interest, while the closing price is outside.
🔹 Area Of Interest Width
The user can adjust the width of the swing areas. Changing the " Width " is a fast and easy way to find different areas of interest.
A higher "Multiple" setting would return a wider area, allowing price to develop within it for a longer period of time and potentially provide later test signals.
When a swing area is broken, a higher "Width" setting can make it more complicated for the price to break it again, allowing a swing area to remain valid for a longer period of time thus potentially providing more retest signals.
🔶 DETAILS
Generally, only one bullish/bearish pattern can be active at a time. This means that no more than 1 bullish or bearish area will be active.
The " Display " settings, however, can help control how areas of different types are displayed.
Bullish AND Bearish: Both, bullish and bearish patterns can be drawn at the same time
Bullish OR Bearish: Only 1 bullish or 1 bearish pattern is drawn at a time
Bullish: Only bullish patterns
Bearish: Only bearish patterns
🔹 Test/Retest Labels
The user can adjust the settings so only the latest test/retest label is shown or set a minimum number of bars until the next test/retest can be drawn.
🔹 Maximum Bars
Users can set a limit of bars for when there is no test/retest in that period; the area of interest won't be updated anymore and will be available and ready for the next Swing.
An option for pulling the area back to the last retest is included.
🔶 SETTINGS
Display: Determines which swing areas are displayed by the indicator. See the "DETAILS" section for more information
Multiple: Adjusts the width of the areas of interest
Maximum Bars: Limit of bars for when there is no test/retest
Display Test/Retest Labels: Show all labels or just the last test/retest label associated with a swing area
Minimum Bars: Minimum bars required for a subsequent test/retest label are allowed to be displayed
Set Back To Last Retest: When after "Maximum Bars" no test/retest is found, place the right side of the area at the last test/retest
🔹 Swings
Left: x amount of wicks on the left of a potential Swing need to be higher/lower for a Swing to be confirmed.
Right: The number of wicks on the right of a potential swing needs to be higher/lower for a Swing to be confirmed.
🔹 Style
Bullish: color for test period (before a breakout) / retest period (after a breakout)
Bearish: color for test period (before a breakout) / retest period (after a breakout)

Breakout
Wunder False Breakout1. The basic concept for this strategy is to use false breakout logic based on price levels.
2. We will enter a trade when the price exhibits a false breakout, where it initially breaks a level but then reverses direction.
3. The main concept of this strategy is to capitalize on false breakouts of price levels. The strategy involves building levels based on the highs and lows over a certain period. When these price levels appear to break out but then reverse, we use these false breakouts as entry points. You can adjust the period to find setups that suit your trading pair and timeframe.
4. A function for calculating risk on the portfolio (your deposit) has been added to the Wunder False Breakout. When this option is enabled, you get a calculation of the entry amount in dollars relative to your Stop Loss. In the settings, you can select the risk percentage on your portfolio. The loss will be calculated from the amount that will be displayed on the chart.
5. For example, if your deposit is $1000 and you set the risk to 1%, with a Stop Loss of 5%, the entry volume will be $200. The loss at SL will be $10. 10$, which is your 1% risk or 1% of the deposit.
Important! The risk per trade must be less than the Stop Loss value. If the risk is greater than SL, then you should use leverage.
The amount of funds entering the trade is calculated in dollars. This option was created if you want to send the dollar amount from Tradingview to the exchange. However, putting your volume in dollars you get the incorrect net profit and drawdown indication in the backtest results, as TradingView calculates the backtest volume in contracts.
To display the correct net profit and drawdown values in Tradingview Backtest results, use the ”Volume in contract” option.
Price and Volume Breakout Buy Strategy [TradeDots]The "Price and Volume Breakout Buy Strategy" is a trading strategy designed to identify buying opportunities by detecting concurrent price and volume breakouts over a specified range of candlesticks.
This strategy is optimized for assets demonstrating high volatility and significant momentum spikes.
HOW IT WORKS
The strategy first takes the specific number of candlesticks as the examination window for both price and volume.
These values are used as benchmarks to identify breakout conditions.
A trade is initiated when both the closing price and the trading volume surpass the maximum values observed within the predetermined window.
Price must be above a designated moving average, serving as the trend indicator, ensuring that all trades align with the prevailing market trend.
APPLICATION
This strategy is particularly effective for highly volatile assets such as Bitcoin and Ethereum, capitalizing on the cues from sudden price and volume breakouts indicative of significant market movement, often driven by market smart money traders.
However, for broader markets like the S&P 500, this strategy may be less effective due to less pronounced volume and price shifts compared to the cryptocurrency markets.
DEFAULT SETUP
Commission: 0.01%
Initial Capital: $10,000
Equity per Trade: 70%
Backtest result sometimes gives fewer than 100 trades under certain higher timeframes, as most trades tend to have a long holding period. Entry conditions are also more stringent, which, combined with the relatively brief history of cryptocurrencies, results in fewer trades on longer timeframes.
Users are advised to adjust and personalize this trading strategy to better match their individual trading preferences and style.

Consolidation and Range PatternHello Traders!
The TRN Consolidation and Range Pattern indicator utilizes a unique swing-based pattern recognition to pinpoint consolidation zones in real-time with unparalleled precision. The rectangle pattern, also known as a trading range or a consolidation pattern, is characterized by horizontal lines that act as support and resistance levels, creating a rectangular shape.
The value of this indicator is to support traders to easily identify consolidations and ranges. The special swing-based pattern recognition and the numerous built-in premium features make this indicator unique. Below, you'll find a list of these features.
Feature List
Real-time consolidation/range detection
Visualization of entry, stop-loss and take-profit levels
Pattern performance statistics
Calculation of risk rewards ratio
Risk Management
Breakout alerts
Customizable pattern size and accuracy
Customizable look and feel
The trader saves a lot of time scanning the markets for consolidation patterns, since everything is done automatically for the trader: Finding the consolidation, looking and alerting for a breakout, computing the entry, stop loss and take profit levels as well as handling the risk management and computing the optimal order quantity. Now, we describe how a combination of these features enhances the trading performance of confirmed consolidation patterns.
How to Trade with the TRN Consolidation and Range Pattern
Identify the Pattern
Add the TRN Consolidation and Range Pattern to your chart and look for the pattern on the asset and timeframe of your choice. The pattern is detected in real-time. If the pattern develops further in the next bars, then the indicator updates the consolidation zone until a breakout is confirmed.
You can also use the built-in alerts to easily get notified when a pattern occurs. In the indicator settings in the "Alerts" section you can choose whether you want to get notified when a pattern is in the making (Pattern active), confirms a breakout to the upside (B/O Up Confirmed) or confirms a breakout to the downside (B/O Down Confirmed). By selecting the "Unconfirmed" option, you will receive notifications when a pattern breakout occurs, even if it is not yet confirmed. This allows you to stay informed about potential breakout opportunities that are still awaiting confirmation.
Check Pattern Statistics
The pattern statistics make it easy for you to see how successful a pattern is on the asset and timeframe you are watching. You should always check them out before entering a trade. The chart displays the statistics in the upper right corner. These statistics are categorized into two sections: "long" for patterns with an upward breakout and "short" for patterns with a downward breakout.
In the initial columns, labeled as "short" and "long", the identified breakouts are further divided based on whether the risk-reward ratio (R) is below a specified value (< x) or equal to/greater than the specified value (>= x). The following columns represent the count of the events:
1. Occ. (Occurrence) categorized according to the values of R from the first column
2. TP1, TP2, TP3 (Take Profit) - targets 1, 2 and 3
3. SL (Stop Loss)
4. T/O (Time Out) - neither stop loss or targets where hit in a certain amount of time
Breakout – Entry, Stop Loss and Targets
The indicator automatically displays the entry price line (EP) in grey et the point where the price breaks through the resistance or support levels, indicating that the consolidation period is over. Once a breakout has been confirmed, place a buy order near the EP level for a long position, or a sell order for a short position. Set your stop-loss at the price level of the red stop-loss line (SL) and set your take-profits at the price level of the green take-profit-lines (TP1, TP2, TP3). Note that your risk-reward ratio (R) was calculated based on TP1.
Risk Management
The TRN Consolidation and Range Pattern comes with a built-in risk management feature. Just go to the settings and scroll down to the section "Risk Management".
Here you can enter your Account Size and the percentage you want to Risk when you enter a position after a pattern breakout.
In the "Trade Management" section, you have the option to define the minimum accepted risk-reward ratio for confirmed rectangles. This means that breakouts of patterns failing to meet the minimum risk-reward ratio will not be considered as confirmed signals.
If a breakout gets confirmed, the indicator automatically calculates the position size (Quantity). You can read the quantity from the gray entry point line (EP), which is located to the right of the risk-reward ratio (R).
Customization and Settings
The indicator can scan for smaller and larger patterns at the same time. Adjust the consolidation sizes in the indicator settings to align them with your preferences. A larger size results in larger consolidations. Depending on the asset class, the market or the market phase, different sizes can be used for the consolidation detection.
To detect more patterns, increase the tolerance level, even though it may result in lower accuracy. However, be mindful that a higher tolerance level may result in more patterns hitting their stop-loss. Look for a tolerance level that leads to favorable statistics and focus on trading patterns with a proven performance history.
Finally, you have the flexibility to customize various visual elements, such as the color of the pattern and whether to display values like price, target, or risk-reward ratio on your chart. You can also choose where these values appear.
Computation Details
The real-time detection of the consolidations and ranges utilizes a unique swing-based pattern recognition. The difference to other swing-based computations is that the pivot points are identified without a look-ahead value. The result is a faster and better real-time detection. Furthermore, the detection of equal lows or highs which form a support or resistance level is based on a dynamic volatility measurement similar to the ATR. The tolerance level unites several internal parameters into one and results in a user-friendly setting.

Last Kiss - PullBack to TrendLine
So far, various indicators have been published to draw the trend line. There are also indicators to detect trend line breakouts. But in rare indicators, the issue of " pullback to the trend line " has been discussed.
After breaking the trend line, the price usually returns to the trend line, which is called a pullback or the last kiss.
A pullback is a confirmation of the strength of the trend break.
1. Find the trend line
An uptrend line is formed by connecting two low-pivots.
low-pivot is a candle that has a lower low value than the before and after candles.
The pivot period is optional and can be changed from the indicator settings.
A pivot may form trend lines with several pivots before it. One of the important features of the indicator is that it can identify all trend lines.
The maximum number of trend lines for each pivot can be determined from the indicator settings.
It is also possible to determine the minimum and maximum distance between two pivots.
2. Find the trend line breakout
After the formation of the trend line, we wait for the price to return to it and break that line. As soon as the first candle closes after the trend line, the breakout is confirmed.
A trend line is not valid forever. If after a certain number of candles, the price does not move towards the trend line, the trend line becomes invalid.
The allowed distance from the formation of the trend line to the breaking point is optional.
3. Detect the last kiss (pullback)
For a valid pullback, after breaking the trend line, the price should move far enough away from the trend line (minimum distance is an optional factor of ATR) and then return to the trend line range and react to it.
Since the price reaction to the exact value of a trend line seems to be rare, therefore, we define an area parallel and close to the trend line as the range of the trend line.
The range is defined as an optional factor of ATR(50).
Also, the allowed distance between the trend line breakout and the pullback can be changed from the indicator settings.
Some features of indicator:
- Manage pivots and their distance
- Trend-Line detection of live market
- Extend lines from the right side for more clarity
- Detection of trend line breakout with the possibility of displaying on the chart and sending alarms
- Fast changing the color of broken lines
- Follow the broken lines to detect the pullback to the broken trend line
- Find pullback points and show them on the chart and send alarms
- Color management of trend lines, broken lines and pullback
- Instructions for using the indicator in the form of different tooltips.

This feature is particularly inspired by Pradeep Bonde's 4% breakout strategy, highlighting the script's capability to identify range expansion and upward thrusts as key entry moments.
Automatic Stop-Levels: Utilizes ADR and ATR to set dynamic stop-losses, helping traders to manage risk effectively by adapting to market volatility.
Comprehensive Market Analysis : Through volume analysis, RSI, closing range, and other parameters, the script offers a deep dive into market dynamics, aiding in decision-making.
Who Should Use It:
This tool is ideal for swing traders and momentum traders focused on short to medium-term gains. Its robust set of features makes it suitable for those who prefer a data-driven approach to identify buying opportunities and manage risk.
Trading Style Compatibility:
The thrust indicator shines in momentum trading strategies, providing clear signals for entering trades ahead of potential price jumps. The integration of moving averages and volume analysis supports a variety of trading styles, including day trading and swing trading, by offering insights into trend strength and potential reversals.
How the Thrust Indicator Works:
When you see a thrust indicator (green upwards arrow below a candle) when the price is moving out of a consolidation or low volatility price-range , that's the buy point.
The thrust indicator is NOT indended as an indicator for long term positions or trend reversals, but for entries at a good price while capturing the first day of a potential 5-20% move in the coming 3-5 days.
The thrust indicator pinpoints moments when a stock shows a strong upward momentum, characterized by a candlestick closing above the highs of the preceding two days. This identifies a momentum burst, signaling an optimal entry point for traders looking to profit from a short-term price movement, typically ranging from 5-20% over the following 3-5 days. Such precision in identifying entry points is invaluable for traders focusing on capturing quick gains from market volatility.
"Top / Watch out" Indicator:
In addition to the script's core functionality, the "WatchOut" indicator plays a crucial role in identifying potential reversals after significant price movements. By analyzing conditions such as recent price increases compared to the average daily range, RSI levels, and the opening price distance from the EMA, the "WatchOut" indicator alerts traders to exercise caution. This feature is pivotal for those looking to avoid entering trades that might be on the verge of a pullback or reversal, enhancing the script's utility in managing risk.

VSA Volume Spread AnalysisVolume Spread Analysis with Trend Direction is an indicator designed to Identify trend based volume spread.
Volume
Spread
Trend
This is a very simple yet powerful to identify Trend and corresponding volume Breakout. Unlike other Volume Indicators this indicator detects Breakout along with trend direction. One can detect the Early breakout in volume using this indicator. The Buy or Sell Signal is based on zero crossing of the Histogram.
Trend direction is confirmed using the MA of the Histogram which is similar to the Volume MA on volume indicator. One can enter a trade using the indicator when Trend direction and histogram are in same direction. Entry is done when ever histogram crosses the Trend MA line.
Fake entries can be eliminated by changing the indicator to higher Timeframe.
Spread is determined using the difference in open and close of the candle
Volume change is determined using the ratio of change of volume to previous volume
EMA 10 is used to determine the Spread and multiplied by volume change so the
PRICE(ema10), Volume, Spread(close-open) are merged to one indicator.
Direction changes when ever difference of VSA is positive or negative.
3 Pivots Interpolation BreakoutsI designed the '3 Pivots Interpolation Breakouts' indicator to intuitively identify breakout opportunities using pivot points. This tool stems from my need to anticipate market direction and capitalize on breakouts. It uses a line interpolated from three pivot highs or lows to forecast upcoming breakouts. This offers a straightforward way to visualize potential bullish and bearish breakouts with color-coded extrapolations. The aim is to simplify breakout detection, enhancing your trading strategy with precise, actionable insights.
Conditional Volatility PercentileSimple Description: This indicator can basically help you find when a big move might happen ( This indicator can't determine the direction but when a big move could happen. ) Basically, a low-extreme value like 0 means that it only has room for upside, so volatility can only expand from that point on, and the fact that volatility mean reverts supports this.
Conditional Volatility Percentile Indicator
This indicator is a tool designed to view current market volatility relative to historical levels. It uses a statistical approach to assess the percentile rank of the calculated conditional volatility.
The Volatility Calculation
This indicator calculates conditional variance with user-defined parameters, which are Omega, Alpha, Beta, and Sigma, and then takes the square root of the variance to calculate the standard deviation. The script then calculates the percentile rank of the conditional variance over a specified lookback.
What this indicator tells you:
Volatility Assessment: Higher percentile values indicate heightened conditional volatility, suggesting increased market activity or potential stress. Meanwhile, lower percentiles suggest relatively lower conditional volatility.
Extreme Values: Volatility is a mean-reverting process. If the volatility percentile value is at a low value for an extended period of time, you can eventually bet on the volatility percentile value increasing with high confidence.
In financial markets, volatility itself exhibits mean-reverting properties. This means that periods of high volatility are likely to be followed by periods of lower volatility, and vice versa.
1. High Volatility Periods: High volatility levels may be followed by a subsequent decrease in volatility as the market returns to a more typical state.
2. Low Volatility Periods: Periods of low volatility may be followed by an uptick in volatility as the market experiences new information or changes in sentiment.

💡 Trend Coloring: Option to color candles during trends, making it easier to visualize bullish and bearish market conditions.
🌈 Customizable Visuals: Choose your preferred colors for bullish, bearish, and breakout signals, personalizing the chart to your liking.
🚨 Advanced Alert System: Configure alerts for reversal and breakout signals, ensuring you never miss a potential trading opportunity.
### How to Use:
To maximize the effectiveness of the Reversal and Breakout Signals tool, follow these steps:
1. 🔧 Set Up Your Preferences:
- Adjust the Indicator Period and Volume Strength Period to match the timeframe of your trading strategy. This fine-tuning allows the indicator to better align with your specific market analysis needs.
- Define the Strong Volume Threshold to distinguish between ordinary and significant volume movements. This helps in identifying breakout or reversal signals with higher confidence.
2. 🎨 Customize Visuals:
- Choose colors for Bullish , Bearish , and Breakout Signals to visually differentiate between different types of market activities. This customization facilitates quicker decision-making while scanning charts.
3. 🔍 Reversal Signals:
- Bullish Reversal : Look for a triangle below the bar indicating a potential upward movement. It's identified when the price dips below the lower level but closes above it, suggesting a rejection of lower prices.
- Bearish Reversal : A triangle above the bar signals a potential downward movement. This occurs when the price spikes above the upper level but closes below, indicating a rejection of higher prices.
4. 📈 Trend and Breakout Signals:
- Diamonds represent breakout signals. A bullish breakout is marked below the bar when the price closes above the upper level, suggesting strong buying pressure. Conversely, a bearish breakout above the bar indicates strong selling pressure as the price closes below the lower level.
- The tool also features a Trend Tracker that highlights the current market trend using the Hull Moving Average (HMA). This can help you stay aligned with the overall market direction for your trades.
By integrating these steps into your trading strategy, the Reversal and Breakout Signals tool can provide actionable insights to help identify potential entry and exit points, enhancing your trading decisions with visual cues and alerts for market reversals and breakouts.
### How It Works:
The core logic revolves around calculating weighted moving averages of high and low prices over a user-defined period, identifying the highest and lowest points within this period to establish potential breakout or breakdown levels while reducing the amount of noise, hence the use of moving averages.
1. Weighted Moving Averages Calculation:
sh = ta.wma(high, len)
sl = ta.wma(low, len)
h = ta.highest(sh, len)
l = ta.lowest(sl, len)
2. Breakout and Reversal Detection:
The script then employs logic to detect bullish and bearish breakouts and reversals based on the closing price's position relative to these levels, combined with volume analysis to confirm the strength of the move.
if not (h < h or h > h )
hstore := h
if not (l < l or l > l )
lstore := l
bullishbreakout := (breakout or ((breakout or breakout or breakout or breakout ) and candledir == 1)) and strongvol and not (bullishbreakout or bullishbreakout or bullishbreakout )
bearishbreakout := (breakdown or ((breakdown or breakdown or breakdown or breakdown ) and candledir == -1)) and strongvol and not (bearishbreakout or bearishbreakout or bearishbreakout )
3. Visual Indicators and Alerts:
Visual cues such as triangle shapes for reversals and diamonds for breakouts, along with colored bars, make it easy to spot these opportunities. Additionally, alerts can be set up for these events, ensuring traders can react promptly to potential trading setups.

Forex Master Pattern Screener 2Overview
The Forex Master Pattern Screener 2 is based on the Master Pattern, which includes contraction, expansion, and trend phases. This indicator is designed to identify and visualize market volatility, market phases, multi-timeframe contractions, liquidity points, and pivot calculations. It provides a clear image of the market's expansion and contraction phases. It's based on an alternative form of technical analysis that reveals the psychological patterns of financial markets through three phases.
Unlike the other master pattern indicators that just use highs and lows and aren't as accurate for finding contractions, this one uses actual measures of volatility to find extremely low levels of volatility and has customizable parameters depending on what you want to do.
What is the Forex Master Pattern?
The Forex Master Pattern is a framework that revolves around understanding market cycles, comprising the three main phases: contraction, expansion, and trend.
Contraction Phase: During this phase, the market has low volatility and is consolidating within a narrow range. Institutional volume tends to be low, and it's suggested to avoid trade entries during this period.
Expansion Phase: Volatility starts to increase, and there start to be bigger moves in price. Institutional traders start accumulating positions in this phase, and they might manipulate prices to draw in retail traders, creating liquidity for their own buying or selling goals.
Trend Phase: This final phase completes the market cycle. Institutional traders begin taking profits, leading to a reversal. This triggers panic among retail traders, resulting in liquidations and stops. This generates liquidity for institutional traders to profit, leaving retail traders with overvalued positions.
Value Line:
The "value line" acts as the fair value zone or the neutral belief zone where buyers and sellers agree on fair value. It can be likened to the center of gravity and is created during contraction zones.
Applications:
Identifying these phases and understanding the value lines can help traders determine the market's general direction and make better trading decisions.
This isn't a strategy but a concept explaining market behavior, allowing traders to develop various strategies based on these principles
The contractions, which are based on volatility calculations, can help you find out when big moves will occur, known as expansions.
How traders can use this indicator
1. Identifying Market Phases:
Contraction Phase: Look for periods where the market has low volatility and is contracting, indicated by a narrow range and highlighted by the contraction box. During this phase, traders prepare for a breakout but usually avoid making new trades until a clearer trend emerges.
Expansion Phase: When the indicator signals an expansion, it suggests that the market is moving out of consolidation and may be beginning a new trend. Traders might look for entry points here, anticipating a continuation of the trend.
Trend Phase: As the market enters this phase, traders look for signs of sustained movement in one direction and consider positions that benefit from this trend.
2. Multi-Timeframe Analysis:
By looking at multiple timeframes, traders can get a broader view of the market. For instance, a contraction phase in a shorter timeframe within an expansion phase in a longer timeframe might suggest a pullback in an overall uptrend. This indicator comes with a MTF contraction screener that is customizable.
2. Fair Value Lines:
The fair value acts like a "center of gravity.". Traders could use this as a reference point for understanding market sentiment and potential reversal points. This indicator shows these values in the middle of the contraction boxes.
3. Volatility Analysis:
This indicator's volatility settings can help traders understand the market's current volatility state. High volatility indicates a more active market with larger, faster moves, while low volatility might suggest caution and tighter stop-losses or take-profits. If volatility is contracting, then an expansion is imminent. This indicator shows the volatility with percentile ranks in 0-100 values and also alerts you when volatility is contracting, aka the contraction phase.
Volatility Calculations:
This indicator uses a geometric standard deviation to measure volatility based on historical price data. This metric quantifies the variability of price changes over a specified lookback period and then computes a percentile rank within a defined sample period. This percentile calculation helps evaluate the current volatility compared to historical levels.
Based on the percentile rank, the indicator sets thresholds to determine whether the current volatility is within a range considered "contraction" or not. For example, if there are really low levels of volatility on the percentile rank, then there is currently a contraction phase. The indicator also compares the volatility value against a moving average, where values above the current moving average value signal the expansion phase.
Multi-Timeframe Analysis (MTF):
This indicator comes with a multi-timeframe table that shows contractions for 5 different timeframes, and the table is customizable.
Bands:
This indicator comes with bands that are constructed based on the statistical calculations of the standard deviation applied to the log-transformed closing prices. It is commonly assumed that the distribution of prices fits some type of right-skewed distribution. To remove most of the skewness, you can use a log transformation , which makes the distribution more symmetrical and easier to analyze, thus the use of these bands . These bands are in the 2 standard deviation range. You can use these bands to trade at extreme levels. The band parameter is based on the contraction volatility lookback, which is in the Volatility Model Settings tab.
Ways the bands could be used with the contractions:
1. Identifying Breakout trades:
Contraction Zones: These zones indicate periods of low volatility where the market is consolidating. There are usually narrow price ranges, which are considered a build-up phase before a significant price move in any direction.
Bands: When the contraction zone occurs, you might notice the bands tightening around the price on smaller lookback periods, reflecting the decreased volatility. A continuous widening of the bands could then signal the beginning of an expansion phase, indicating a potential breakout opportunity.
2. Enhancing Trade Timing:
Before the Breakout: During the contraction phase, the bands might move closer together, reflecting the lower volatility. You can monitor this phase closely and prepare for a potential expansion. The bands can provide additional confirmation; for instance, a price move toward one of the bands might show an extreme occurrence and might show what the direction of the breakout could be.
After the breakout: Once the price breaks out of the contraction zone and goes to the expansion phase, and if it coincides with the bands widening significantly, it could reinforce the strength and potential sustainability of the new trend, providing a clearer entry.
3. Price-touching bands during a contraction:
If the price repeatedly touches one of the bands during a contraction phase, it might suggest a buildup of pressure in that direction. For example, if the price is consistently touching the upper band even though the bands are narrow, it might suggest bullish pressure that could occur once the expansion phase begin.
4. Price at the band extreme levels during Expansion:
If the price is at the extreme levels of the bands once the expansion phase occurs, it might indicate unsustainable levels and a low probability of the price continuing beyond those levels. Potentially signaling that a reversal will occur. Some trades could use these extremes to place entries during the expansion phases.
Liquidity Levels:
This script comes with liquidity points, whose functionality goes towards identifying pivotal levels in price action, focusing on swing highs and swing lows in the market. These points represent areas where significant buying (for swing lows) or selling (for swing highs) activity has occurred, implying potential levels or resistance in the price movement.
These liquidity points, often identified as highs and lows, are points where market participants have shown interest in the past. These levels can act as psychological indications where traders might place orders, leading to increased trading activity when these levels are approached or breached. When used with the Forex Master Pattern phases, liquidity levels can enhance trades placed with this indicator. For instance, if the market is expanding and approaches a significant liquidity level, there might be a higher chance of a breakout or reversal, showing a possible entry or exit point.
Liquidity Levels in the Contraction Phase:
Accumulation and Distribution: During the contraction phase, liquidity levels can indicate where huge positions are likely accumulating or distributing quietly. If price is near a known liquidity level and in a contraction phase, it might suggest that a large market player is building a position in anticipation of the next move.
Breakout Points: Liquidity levels can also give clues about where price could go after the breakout from the contraction phase. A break above a liquidity level might indicate a strong move to come as the market overcomes significant selling pressure.
Liquidity Levels in Expansion Phase:
Direct Confirmation: As the expansion phase begins, breaking through liquidity levels can confirm the new trend's direction. If the price moves past these levels with huge volume, it might indicate that the market has enough momentum to continue the trend.
Target Areas: Liquidity levels can act as target areas during the expansion phase. Traders using this indicator could look to take profits if the price approaches these levels, possibly expecting a reaction from the market.
Breakout Probability Indicator (FinnoVent)The Breakout Probability Indicator is a cutting-edge tool designed for traders looking to gauge the likelihood of price breakouts above or below current levels. This indicator intelligently combines Average True Range (ATR) and recent price action to provide a probabilistic insight into potential future price movements, enhancing strategy formulation and risk management.
Core Features:
Volatility Assessment: Utilizes the Average True Range (ATR) to measure market volatility, a critical component in identifying potential breakout scenarios.
Dynamic Price Levels: Calculates and plots potential breakout levels based on recent highs and lows, adjusted for current market volatility.
Probability Estimation: Provides an estimation of the probability of reaching these breakout levels, using a responsive logarithmic scale for improved sensitivity.
Real-time Updates: Continuously updates probabilities and levels as new price information becomes available, ensuring traders have the most current data at their fingertips.
Usage:
Add this indicator to any chart in TradingView to see the upper and lower breakout levels, each accompanied by a dynamically calculated probability percentage. These probabilities help traders understand the potential for price movement in either direction, forming a basis for entry or exit decisions, stop-loss placement, and strategy adjustments.
Compliance and Guidelines:
This script is shared for educational purposes, offering a novel approach to understanding market dynamics. It does not constitute financial advice and should be used as part of a comprehensive trading strategy. Traders are encouraged to backtest and paper-trade any new tool before live implementation to ensure it aligns with their trading style and risk tolerance.
[Opening Range Breakout] S&R Strategy with Backtest (TSO) S&R Strategy with Backtest (TSO)

===========================================================================
This indicator serves as a comprehensive full-cycle trading system, providing alerts at each stage of the trade, from opening to closure. The algorithm initiates by calculating the Opening/Pre-Market Price Range, waiting for a breakout to generate signals, and establishing TP (Take Profit and SL (Stop Loss) levels. The Opening/Pre-Market range, known for its robust support and resistance levels, is a key element. To filter out false breakouts and capture valid ones, the indicator incorporates a Smart Breakout feature, requiring confirmation through an initial breakout, a confirmation bounce, and a subsequent confirmation breakout. The indicator offers a variety of automated approaches for TP (Take-Profit) and SL (Stop-Loss) settings. These include leveraging opening range levels, both the most recent and historical S&R (Support and Resistance) levels, and an ATR (Average True Range) trailing stop-loss. This diverse set of tools ensure flexibility in tailoring TP (Take-Profit) and SL (Stop-Loss) parameters to different market conditions, contributing to a more adaptive and robust trading system. Additionally, a series of signal analysis tools, including candle bar analysis, divergence, and volume, enhance the precision of trading signals.
* Works with popular timeframes: 1M, 3M, 5M, 15M, 30M, 45M, 1H.
* Works best with Indices, Stocks, and Commodities, since there is pre-market price movement, which is used to obtain support and resistance price range.
* Every action of the trade is calculated on a confirmed closed candle bar state (barstate.isconfirmed), so the indicator will never repaint.

NOTE: If Strategy Tester does not show any results with Date Ranged fully unchecked, there may be an issue where a script opens a trade, but there is not enough TradingView power to set the Take-Profit and Stop-Loss and somehow an open trade gets stuck and never closes, so there are “no trades present”. In such case - manually check “Start”/“End” dates or use “Deep Backtesting” feature!

TAKE-PROFIT/STOP-LOSS CONFIGURATION ///////////////////////////////////////
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
>>> TP (Take-Profit) and SL (Stop-Loss): S&R Search - Left Bars: This setting is for calculating optimal S&R (Support and Resistance) levels (in combination with below - Right Bars) for S&R (Support and Resistance) TP (Take-Profit) levels calculations. NOTE: if at any point - there will be no available S&R (Support & Resistance) found for SL (Stop-Loss, 'S&R-Dynamic-SL' or 'S&R-Static-SL' setting, since both settings search for optimal SL (Stop-Loss) at trade open) or TP (Take-Profit, at any setting, since at trade open, an optimal TP (Take-Profit) level is searched) > SL (Stop-Loss) will automatically switch to trailing ATR-Trailing-SL and the trade will continue to run until it either hits ATR-Trailing-SL (Stop-Loss) or closes at EOD (End of Day).
>>> TP (Take-Profit) and SL (Stop-Loss): S&R Search - Right Bars: This setting is for calculating optimal S&R (Support and Resistance) levels (in combination with above - Left Bars) for S&R (Support and Resistance) TP (Take-Profit) levels calculations.
>>> TP (Take-Profit) and SL (Stop-Loss): S&R Search - Custom Resolution: This is a custom timeframe setting specifically for S&R Search, it disregards current chart timeframe. This is great to use for scalping, for example: with main chart set to 1min and the custom timeframe set to 3min or 5min - there will be stronger support/resistance levels with more detailed price action.
>>> TP (Take-Profit) and SL (Stop-Loss): # of Bars (5000 max) to search back for optimal Support and Resistance levels: This is how many candles will be searched backwards for previous S&Rs (Support and Resistance) to find the optimal levels for TP (Take-Profit) and SL (Stop-Loss). NOTE: If SL (Stop-Loss) System is set to 'ATR-Trailing-SL' - this setting is only relevant for searching TP (Take-Profit) levels.
>>> TP (Take-Profit) and SL (Stop-Loss): At Trade Open - No S&R (Support and Resistance) found behavior: 'Skip Trade': If at trade open there are no S&R (Support and Resistance) levels for TP1 (Take-Profit 1) or SL (Stop-Loss) - trade is skipped. 'Open/ATR-Trailing-SL': If at trade open there are no S&R (Support and Resistance) levels for TP1 (Take-Profit 1) or SL (Stop-Loss), the trade will still be open with SL (Stop-Loss) set to 'ATR-Trailing-SL'.
>>> TP (Take-Profit) System: Pre-Market-Range-TP: All TP (Take-Profit) targets are calculated at trade open using the distance between Support and Resistance per Opening Pre-market Range and then divided by TP (Take-Profit) Divider, which can be set below; S&R-Current-Optimal-TP1: TP1 (Take-Profit) level is set per currently available S&R (Support & Resistance), if none available - historical S&R (Support & Resistance) levels will be searched, remaining TP (Take-Profit) targets (if selected, up to 5 # of TPs) are searched through most recent closest historical S&R (Support & Resistance) levels; S&R-Historic-Optimal-TP1: TP1 (Take-Profit) level is set per historically most recent closest available S&R (Support & Resistance) to the Entry price, remaining TP (Take-Profit) targets (if selected, up to 5 # of TPs) are searched through historical S&R (Support & Resistance) levels as well.
>>> TP (Take-Profit, Pre-Market-Range-TP) Divider #: This is for 'Pre-Market-Range-TP' setting only, where TP (Take-Profit) level is the distance between top/bottom levels of the opening range. It can be reduced by the divider #. (1 - full distance; 2 - 1/2 distance; 3 - 1/3 distance; etc.
>>> TP (Take-Profit) # of targets: It is wise to divide the trade into several profit targets. With this setting - up to 5 TP (Take-Profit) targets can be approached. The trade will be equally divided up by the selected # of TP (Take-Profit) targets.
>>> TP (Take-Profit) target(s) Consumed: Signal Bar consuming Take-Profits - trade signal bar is big enough to 'consume'/close ahead of the first TP setting > the signal can either be skipped, or all Take-Profit targets pushed ahead by average bar size).
>>> TP (Take-Profit) Offset - On/Off: This is a feature where TP (Take-Profit) target will be considered taken even if the price never crosses the target(s), but comes close enough (based on the offset amount). Set the offset amount below.
>>>>> TP (Take-Profit) Offset - Amount: Some Examples: (for SPY 0.1 would be $0.10 offset - if TP1 is $400 and price hits $399.90 > TP1 considered taken/signal shown/alert) | NOTE: For EURUSD, it is very different and if wrong will show TP1 immediately at trade open, typical good offset for EURUSD is: 0.0005 | Similar for BTCUSD, for example: 10 - $10 offset, if TP is $15,000 > $14,990.
>>> SL (Stop-Loss) System: 'Pre-Market-Range-SL': SL (Stop-Loss) is set to the opposite market range level from trade direction; 'S&R-Static-SL': SL (Stop-Loss) is set at trade open per optimal most recent S&R level and remains there until trade closes; 'S&R-Dynamic-SL': SL (Stop-Loss) is set at a trade open per optimal S&R (Support and Resistance) level from the most recent AND historical S&Rs (Support and Resistance), with every bar closed it will check if there are new S&Rs (Support and Resistance) levels, if these levels appear closer to the current price then current level - it will move SL (Stop-Loss) to that level, therefore reducing the risk; 'ATR-Trailing-SL': SL (Stop-Loss) is trail-following the ATR (Average True Range) line, NOTE: If at signal trigger, ATR will be against the trade direction - trade open signal will be skipped; 'S&R-TP-Entry-SL': SL (Stop-Loss) initially is set per S&R, then moves to Entry price at the very first TP (Take-Profit) hit and remains there until trade closes; 'S&R-TP-Trail-SL': SL (Stop-Loss) initially is set per S&R, then moves to Entry at TP1 (Take-Profit 1) hit, then keeps trailing per previously taken profit targets (TP2 taken, SL moves to TP1 | TP3 taken, SL moves to TP2 | TP4 taken, SL moves to TP3). NOTE: 'ATR-Trailing-SL' will not switch automatically if 'S&R-Dynamic-SL', S&R-TP-Entry-SL', 'S&R-TP-Trail-SL' system is selected, as already the most optimal SL (Stop-Loss) level is calculated - it will switch automatically only with 'S&R-Static-SL' system.
>>> SL (Stop-Loss) - On/Off: Without SL (Stop-Loss), unless EOD (End of Day) Close is turned on - there will be no SL (Stop-Loss) at all!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

TP System - VERY IMPORTANT INFO!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"TP PERCENTAGE" - amount by which current trade/position needs to be reduced/partially closed/sold.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
TP System: Dynamic
"TP PERCENTAGE" - will always be the same amount (trade/position size divided by the # of take-profit(TP) targets) and percentage to be closed will always be of the ORIGINAL trade/position.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
TP System: Static
"TP PERCENTAGE" - will always be the same amount IF take-profit(TP) targets are hit 1-by-1 (TP1 > TP2 > TP3 > TP4 > TP5), otherwise it will vary and unless it is a 1st take-profit(TP1), the REMAINING trade/position size will always be smaller than original and therefore the percentage to be closed will always be of the REMAINING trade/position and NOT the original one!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"TP PERCENTAGE" CheatSheet (these are the only percentages you may see)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
TP PERCENTAGE---Close/Sell Amount-------------Example (trade size: 50 stocks)
20%-------------trade size * 0.2--------------50 * 0.2 = 10 stocks
25%-------------trade size * 0.25-------------50 * 0.25 = 12.5(~13) stocks
34%-------------trade size * 0.34-------------50 * 0.34 = 17 stocks
40%-------------trade size * 0.4--------------50 * 0.4 = 20 stocks
50%-------------trade size * 0.5--------------50 * 0.5 = 25 stocks
60%-------------trade size * 0.6--------------50 * 0.6 = 30 stocks
66%-------------trade size * 0.66-------------50 * 0.66 = 33 stocks
75%-------------trade size * 0.75-------------50 * 0.75 = 37.5(~38) stocks
80%-------------trade size * 0.8--------------50 * 0.8 = 40 stocks
100%------------trade size--------------------50 = 50 stocks
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
If for any reason a portion of the current/remaining trade closed at such occurrence was slightly wrong, it is not an issue. Such occurrences are rare and with slight difference in partial TP closed is not significant to overall performance of our algorithms.

This is not affecting the script logic and backtesting results, if you simply change the timeframe real quick to something else then back - it will no longer show the duplicate orders... this must be some sort of a glitch as every alert was thoroughly tested to make sure everything is working!

⚙️SETTINGS
1. General Configration
Support & Resistance Count -> Select between 1-3 support & resistance zones for each timeframe.
Pivot Range -> The pivot range is taken into calculations when finding high & low pivots in the chart. Increase if you need a more general look at the support & support zones, or decrease if you need a more detailed look.
Strength -> The strength of the support & resistance zones are determined by how many times the price touched the zone in the past. You can increase the strength up to 4.
Expand Lines & Zones -> If enabled, the support & resistance zones will be expanded to both left and right infinitely. If disabled, the support & resistance zones will be clamped between the time they are first seen, and the time they become broken.
2. Support & Resistance Zones
Enable Zones -> The support & resitsance lines will be converted to zones if enabled.
Zone Width -> The width of the zones. 1 -> %0.05, 2 -> %0.06, 3 -> %0.075.
3. Timeframes
Enable & Disable up to 3 different timeframes using the checkboxes. You can set the timeframes using the selectboxes.
4. Breaks & Retests
Show Breaks -> Points the break points with a blue label with the text "B" on it.
Show Retests -> Points the times when the support & resistance zones are being retested in the current chart.
Avoid False Breaks -> If enabled, the algorithm will try to avoid false break points by comparing the average volume of the point to a longer average volume.
Break Volume Threshold % -> If "Avoid False Breaks" option is enabled, the average volume of the break point should surpass the general average volume by this percent. Higher values mean it's less likely to be a break.
Inverse Color After Broken -> As broken support & resistance zones often become resistance & support zones respectively, if you enable this option the broken zones will inverse their color.
5. Alerts
To make the alerts work, you'll need to add an alert to the chart using the TradingView® alert feature.
Enable Retest Alerts -> You will receive alerts when restests happen on any of the support & resistance zones. "Show Retests" option needs to be enabled to get alerts of this category.
Enable Break Alerts -> You will receive alerts when breaks happen on any of the support & resistance zones.
Custom % Breakout HighlightThe "Custom % Breakout Highlight" indicator in Pine Script is designed to visually identify candles that experience a significant percentage price change relative to a user-defined threshold. The primary goal of this indicator is to highlight candles that surpass a specified percentage breakout level, signaling potential price movements or shifts in market dynamics.
Parameters:
Percentage Breakout: Users can input a desired percentage value to define the threshold for identifying breakout candles. This parameter allows customization based on the trader's preference or the specific characteristics of the instrument being analyzed.
How it works:
The script calculates the percentage change in the closing price of each candle compared to the closing price of the previous candle.
It then checks whether the absolute value of this percentage change exceeds the user-defined percentage breakout threshold.
If the condition is met, the script highlights the corresponding candles by displaying a blue background in a new pane at the low of the breakout candle.
Interpretation:
Highlighted Candles: Candles with a background color indicate instances where the price change exceeds the defined percentage breakout level. Traders may interpret these highlighted candles as potential breakout or significant price movement signals.
Usage:
Traders and analysts can use this indicator to identify candles with notable price changes, helping them focus on potential breakout events or shifts in market sentiment.
By adjusting the "Percentage Breakout" parameter, users can customize the sensitivity of the indicator to match the volatility characteristics of different assets or trading preferences.
Note:
The indicator is designed for use on various timeframes and can be applied to different financial instruments.
It is important to consider other technical and fundamental analysis tools in conjunction with this indicator for comprehensive decision-making.
This indicator serves as a visual aid for traders seeking to highlight candles with significant percentage price movements, offering a customizable tool for breakout identification in financial markets.
Donchian Quest Research// =================================
Trend following strategy.
// =================================
Strategy uses two channels. One channel - for opening trades. Second channel - for closing.
Channel is similar to Donchian channel, but uses Close prices (not High/Low). That helps don't react to wicks of volatile candles (“stop hunting”). In most cases openings occur earlier than in Donchian channel. Closings occur only for real breakout.
// =================================
Strategy waits for beginning of trend - when price breakout of channel. Default length of both channels = 50 candles.
Conditions of trading:
- Open Long: If last Close = max Close for 50 closes.
- Close Long: If last Close = min Close for 50 closes.
- Open Short: If last Close = min Close for 50 closes.
- Close Short: If last Close = max Close for 50 closes.
// =================================
Color of lines:
- black - channel for opening trade.
- red - channel for closing trade.
- yellow - entry price.
- fuchsia - stoploss and breakeven.
- vertical green - go Long.
- vertical red - go Short.
- vertical gray - close in end, don't trade anymore.
// =================================
Order size calculated with ATR and volatility.
You can't trade 1 contract in BTC and 1 contract in XRP - for example. They have different price and volatility, so 1 contract BTC not equal 1 contract XRP.
Script uses universal calculation for every market. It is based on:
- Risk - USD sum you ready to loss in one trade. It calculated as percent of Equity.
- ATR indicator - measurement of volatility.
With default setting your stoploss = 0.5 percent of equity:
- If initial capital is 1000 USD and used parameter "Permit stop" - loss will be 5 USD (0.5 % of equity).
- If your Equity rises to 2000 USD and used parameter "Permit stop"- loss will be 10 USD (0.5 % of Equity).
// =================================
This Risk works only if you enable “Permit stop” parameter in Settings.
If this parameter disabled - strategy works as reversal strategy:
⁃ If close Long - channel border works as stoploss and momentarily go Short.
⁃ If close Short - channel border works as stoploss and momentarily go Long.
Channel borders changed dynamically. So sometime your loss will be greater than ‘Risk %’. Sometime - less than ‘Risk %’.
If this parameter enabled - maximum loss always equal to 'Risk %'. This parameter also include breakeven: if profit % = Risk %, then move stoploss to entry price.
// =================================
Like all trend following strategies - it works only in trend conditions. If no trend - slowly bleeding. There is no special additional indicator to filter trend/notrend. You need to trade every signal of strategy.
Strategy gives many losses:
⁃ 30 % of trades will close with profit.
⁃ 70 % of trades will close with loss.
⁃ But profit from 30% will be much greater than loss from 70 %.
Your task - patiently wait for it and don't use risky setting for position sizing.
// =================================
Recommended timeframe - Daily.
// =================================
Trend can vary in lengths. Selecting length of channels determine which trend you will be hunting:
⁃ 20/10 - from several days to several weeks.
⁃ 20/20 or 50/20 - from several weeks to several months.
⁃ 50/50 or 100/50 or 100/100 - from several months to several years.
// =================================
Inputs (Settings):
- Length: length of channel for trade opening/closing. You can choose 20/10, 20/20, 50/20, 50/50, 100/50, 100/100. Default value: 50/50.
- Permit Long / Permit short: Longs are most profitable for this strategy. You can disable Shorts and enable Longs only. Default value: permit all directions.
- Risk % of Equity: for position sizing used Equity percent. Don't use values greater than 5 % - it's risky. Default value: 0.5%.
⁃ ATR multiplier: this multiplier moves stoploss up or down. Big multiplier = small size of order, small profit, stoploss far from entry, low chance of stoploss. Small multiplier = big size of order, big profit, stop near entry, high chance of stoploss. Default value: 2.
- ATR length: number of candles to calculate ATR indicator. It used for order size and stoploss. Default value: 20.
- Close in end - to close active trade in the end (and don't trade anymore) or leave it open. You can see difference in Strategy Tester. Default value: don’t close.
- Permit stop: use stop or go reversal. Default value: without stop, reversal strategy.
// =================================
Properties (Settings):
- Initial capital - 1000 USD.
- Script don't uses 'Order size' - you need to change 'Risk %' in Inputs instead.
- Script don't uses 'Pyramiding'.
- 'Commission' 0.055 % and 'Slippage' 0 - this parameters are for crypto exchanges with perpetual contracts (for example Bybit). If use on other markets - set it accordingly to your exchange parameters.

Targets For Many Indicators [LuxAlgo]The Targets For Many Indicators is a useful utility tool able to display targets for many built-in indicators as well as external indicators. Targets can be set for specific user-set conditions between two series of values, with the script being able to display targets for two different user-set conditions.
Alerts are included for the occurrence of a new target as well as for reached targets.
🔶 USAGE
Targets can help users determine the price limit where the price might start deviating from an indication given by one or multiple indicators. In the context of trading, targets can help secure profits/reduce losses of a trade, as such this tool can be useful to evaluate/determine user take profits/stop losses.
Due to these essentially being horizontal levels, they can also serve as potential support/resistances, with breakouts potentially confirming new trends.
In the above example, we set targets 3 ATR's away from the closing price when the price crosses over the script built-in SuperTrend indicator using ATR period 10 and factor 3. Using "Long Position Target" allows setting a target above the price, disabling this setting will place targets below the price.
Users might be interested in obtaining new targets once one is reached, this can be done by enabling "New Target When Reached" in the target logic setting section, resulting in more frequent targets.
Lastly, users can restrict new target creation until current ones are reached. This can result in fewer and longer-term targets, with a higher reach rate.
🔹 Dashboard
A dashboard is displayed on the top right of the chart, displaying the amount, reach rate of targets 1/2, and total amount.
This dashboard can be useful to evaluate the selected target distances relative to the selected conditions, with a higher reach rate suggesting the distance of the targets from the price allows them to be reached.

The latter contains more information about each indicator.
Note that when "Show Source Values" is enabled, only values that can be logically found around the price will be shown. For example, Supertrend , SMA , EMA , BB , ... will be made visible. Values like RSI , OBV , %R , ... will not be visible since they will deviate too much from the price.
🔹 Interaction with settings
This publication contains input fields, where you can enter the necessary inputs per indicator.
Some indicators need only 1 value, others 2 or 3.
When several input values are needed, you need to separate them with a comma.
You can use 0 to 4 spaces between without a problem. Even an extra comma doesn't give issues.
The red colored help text will guide you further along (Only when Target is enabled)
Some examples that work without issues:
Some examples that work with issues:
As mentioned, the errors won't be visible when the concerning target is disabled
🔶 SETTINGS
Show Target Labels: Display target labels on the chart.

🔹 Logic
Wait Until Reached: When enabled will not create a new target until an existing one is reached.
New Target When Reached: Will create a new target when an existing one is reached.
Evaluate Wicks: Will use high/low prices to determine if a target is reached. Unselecting this setting will use the closing price.
Target Distance From Price: Controls the distance of a target from the price. Can be determined in currencies/points, percentages, ATR multiples, ticks, or using multiple of external values.
External Distance Value: External distance value when "External Value" is selected in "Target Distance From Price".
Targets For Overlay Indicators [LuxAlgo]The Targets For Overlay Indicators is a useful utility tool able to display targets during crossings made between the price and external indicators on the user chart. Users can display a series of two targets, one for crossover events and another one for crossunder event.
Alerts are included for the occurrence of a new target as well as for reached targets.
🔶 USAGE
In order for targets to be displayed users need to select an appropriate input source from the "Source" drop-down input setting. In the example above we apply the indicator to a volatility stop.
This can also easily be done by adding the "Targets For Overlay Indicators" script on the VStop indicator directly.
🔹 Examples
The indicator can be applied to many overlay indicators that naturally produce crosses with the price, such as moving average, trailing stops, bands...etc.
Users can use trailing stops such as the SuperTrend or VStop to more easily create clean targets. Do note that certain SuperTrend scripts separate the upper and lower extremities of the SuperTrend into two different plot, which cannot be used with this tool, you may use the provided SuperTrend script below to have a compatible version with our tool:
//@version=5
indicator("SuperTrend", overlay = true)
factor = input.float(3, 'Factor', minval = 0)
atrLen = input.int(10, 'ATR Length', minval = 1)
= ta.supertrend(factor, atrLen)
plot(spt, 'SuperTrend', dir != dir ? na : dir < 0 ? #089981 : #f23645, 2)
plot(spt, 'Circles', dir > dir ? #f23645 : dir < dir ? #089981 : na, 3, plot.style_circles)
Using moving averages can produce more targets than other overlay indicators.
Users can apply the tool twice when using bands or any overlay indicator returning two outputs, using crossover targets for obtaining targets using the upper band as source and crossunder targets for targets using the lower band. We can also use the Trendlines with breaks indicator as example:
🔶 SETTINGS
Source: Indicator source used to create targets. Targets are created when the closing price crosses the specified source.
Show Target Labels: Display target labels on the chart.
Candle Coloring: Apply candle coloring based on the most recent active target.
🔹 Target
Crossover and Crossunder targets use the same settings below:
Show Target: Determines if the target is displayed or not.
Above Price Target: If selected, will create targets above the closing price.
Can be determined in currencies/points, percentages, ATR multiples, or ticks.
London BreakOut ClassicHey there, this is my first time publishing a strategy. The strategy is based on the London Breakout Idea, an incredibly popular concept with abundant information available online.
Let me summarize the London Breakout Strategy in a nutshell: It involves identifying key price levels based on the Tokyo Session before the London Session starts. Typically, these key levels are the high and low of the previous Tokyo session. If a breakout occurs during the London session, you simply follow the trend.
The purpose of this code
After conducting my research, I came across numerous posts, videos, and articles discussing the London Breakout Strategy. I aimed to automatically test it myself to verify whether the claims made by these so-called trading gurus are accurate or not. Consequently, I wrote this script to gain an understanding of how this strategy would perform if I were to follow its basic settings blindly.
Explanation of drawings on the chart:
Red or Green Box: A box is drawn on our chart displaying the exact range of the Tokyo trading session. This box is colored red if the trend during the session was downward and green if it was upward. The box is always drawn between the high and the low between 0:00 AM and 7:00 AM UTC. You can change the settings via the Inputs "Session time Tokyo" & "Session time zone".
Green Background: The green background represents the London trading session. My code allows us to make entries only during this time. If we haven't entered a trade, any pending orders are canceled. I've also programmed a timeout at 11 pm to ensure every trade is closed before the new Tokyo session begins.
Red Line: The red line is automatically placed in the middle of our previous Tokyo range. This line acts as our stop loss. If we cross this line after entering a trade but before reaching our take profit, we'll be stopped out.
When do we enter a trade?
We wait for a candle body to close outside of the previous Tokyo range to enter a trade with the opening of the next candle. We only enter one trade per day.
Where do we put our Take Profit?
The code calculates the exact distance between our entry point and the stop loss. We are trading a risk-reward ratio of 1:1 by default, meaning our take profit is always the same number of pips away from our entry as the stop loss. The Stop Loss is always defined by the red line on the chart. You can change the risk-reward ratio via the inputs setting "CRV", to see how the result changes.
What is the purpose of this script?
I wanted to backtest the London breakout strategy to see how it actually works. Therefore, I wrote this code so that everybody can test it for themselves. You can change the settings and see how the result changes. Typically, you should test this strategy on forex markets and on either 1Min, 5 Min, or 15 Min timeframe.
What are the results?
Over the last 3-6 months (over 100 trades), trading the strategy with my default settings hasn't proven to be very successful. Consequently, I do not recommend trading this strategy blindly. The purpose of this code is to provide you with a foundation for the London Breakout Strategy, allowing you to modify and enhance it according to your preferences. If you're contemplating whether to give it a try, you can assess the results from the past months by using this code as a starting point.
Pocket Pivot BreakoutPocket Pivot Breakout Indicator
The pocket pivot breakout indicator will show a blue arrow under the candle if both the following conditions are met:
1. The percentage change of the candle on that day from open is greater than 3%.
2. The volume on the day of 3% candle is higher than the highest red volume in the past 10 days.
The second condition is based on the 'Pocket Pivot' concept developed by Gil Morales and Chris Kacher.
If only one of the conditions is met, while the other is not, there will be no arrow.
How to use the Pocket Pivot Breakout indicator?
1. If the stock is breaking out of a proper base like (cup & handle, Darvas box etc.), you can use the blue arrow as an indicator to make your initial buy.
2. If you already own a stock, the blue arrow indicator can be used for pyramiding, following a continuation breakout from a proper base.
3. Avoid making a new entry or continuation entry if the stock is too extended from 10ma.
Gap-up > 0.5% Indicator
Gap-up Indicator displays a blue colored candle when a stock gaps up by more than 0.5% compared to previous day's close.
It is turned off by default. To activate it, check the box next to Gap-up > 0.5% in the indicator options.
How to use the Gap-up Indicator?
1. When a stock gaps up, it usually indicates strength, especially if on the day of the gap-up, the stock closes strongly.
2. This indicator should not be used in isolation but with a proper base breakout from a tight consolidation.
3. If a stock is already extended from 10ma, avoid taking any new or continuation entries.
Precautions
1. Avoid buying longs when the general market conditions are not favorable.
2. Avoid buying stocks below 200ma.
3. Avoid making a new entry or pyramid entry if a stock is too extended from 10ma.
Important Points
1. Always choose fundamentally strong stocks showing strong growth in earnings/margins/sales.
2. Buy these fundamentally strong stocks when they are breaking out of proper bases.
3. To learn more about pocket pivots and buyable gap-ups, read the book, Trade Like an O'Neil Disciple (by Gil Morales & Chris Kacher).
